Good info, thanks. Of course you have guys like Peterson that claim neither he or his coach knew that testosterone was a banned substance, they might not know about these. :rofl

 Yeah. Even if they are using the "Medical" excuse/reason as to why they didn't know it would be "illegal" considering it was from a "Doctor" for "treatment,"....if an adviser is provided, he would have let them know ALL use of so-and-so substances must be either cleared by the Testers/Commission or not used at all because they are considered PEDs/Banned Substances.

This is also why I do think Athletes should be willing to allow Medical records to be open to them while being an "Active" athlete...unless they just want to say they know what the deal is and whatever is in their samples is what it is.

I don't think he said anything. Only one guy got caught cheating though, and that was Peterson.

Any positive test probably makes boxers and promoters more hesitant to use VADA or USADA. I would note however the amount of nandrolone Berto tested positive for would have also resulted in a positive test with USADA testing. Additionally, it was Golden Boy's decision to immediately cancel the fight, not VADA's. I fail to see what the actual bug was here or where they committed any errors.

if the tests are busting innocent guys hurting their careers and reputation than thats bad

but if it busts cheaters thats good

to be honest guys have been doing it for years and they will continue to try

I agree, it isn't VADA who quickly cancelled the fight, it is Golden Boy and Team Ortiz. They stopped the fight without waiting to see if Berto was actually cheating or if it was the result of contamination and etc.

This testing nonsense will die when fighters/promoters/networks start to feel that cancelled fight is bad business no matter who pisses the +.

They need to organize the testing better and bring in, alternative fighters who the public wants to see in the event of a positive test.

Even the states could institute testing due at contract signing without much trouble. They could take urine samples and randomly test those. I think guys knowing that they would be sampled, tested or not, adds another deterrent without rising costs much.

Reactions for first positive weed case before a big event will be interesting.

Soon after that another second hand stoner gets to hundreds of peoples wallets.

UFC could go to full testing so easily compared to boxing. They won't, because it's still unproductive.

Berto's case is an epic failure for VADA and GBP. If Peterson's dubious story turns out to be legitimate, it should be the nail in the coffin.

How is Berto's case a failure? The test worked, the problem was GBP rushing the gun to kick the fight out instead of waiting to see why the test was flagged.

Peterson's story is bull**** and everyone knows it, there is nothing to wait and see about him.
