KD'd before he retires...or will he retire again through injuries in training or just call it a day after winning all his future fights n retire champ?? Waddya think???
the clear answer is NO....there is noone fighting who could seat dr klitschko...he is a victim of his time.. if he fought in the 70's he wouldve had a better legacy, and probably have bee seated, and had great trilogys, but...
I can see him getting decked but not stopped. You never know though, his chin is solid but not unbreakable. At heavyweight it only takes one well timed, well placed punch and your staring up at the lights. Some people need to get rid of this myth that Vitali is unstoppable.
If he stays around long enough it will happen eventually. I say we 'feed' him a bunch of monster punchers left in the division, and see when, not if, it will happen.
He will NOT get KO'd. As per retiring? I think it's possible if Sauliman continues to try to strong arm a fight between him and Slowleg Maskaev he will retire. Another scenario is that if Haye beats Wlad, Vitali will challenge Haye and then if he wins THAT fight, he might retire.
i cant see him being ko'd unless he goes on to long tua's got the power to do it but he wouldnt get anywere near his chin if they faught
In boxing you can never say never. Many fighters over the years had great chins, but get hit just right. Can in the group of HW KO him....Not one that I can see, but again...never say never.
of the current fighters i can only see arreola and haye deck him. put it would probably take two or three flush shots which is unlikely.
It's hard to picture Vitali getting knocked down let alone knocked out when he sustained those brutal uppercuts vs. Lewis andf his legs didn't budge. He took some decent punches vs. Johnson, Sanders & early against Peter. There was one body punch in the first round vs. Peter that left a red mark on Vitali's chest for the remainder of the fight. Did you see those body 10-15 straight shots vs. Lewis when they were clinching? The man takes pain well...................to say the least.
To be fair though gettinf decked could be a culmination of a lot of things. Vitali seems to like to stand spread out and pop that jab like a piston. He could lose balance on a punch, get hit and fall down or something like that. Getting knocked down isn't exactly out of the realm of possibility. NOW getting KO'd? Don't see it. The guy is way too tough to stay down for the 10 count. Remember Vitali wanted to fight on with the right (left?) side of his face falling off against a brutal puncher in Lennox Lewis.
I know the exact punch you are referring to but Lennox actually landed many uppercuts in that fight, most in one round in particular. That's both a credit to Lewis & Vitali right there.
Exactly. Which is why I don't question his heart or refer to him as "quitali" like some idiots I know. Yes Vitali quit vs. Byrd while far ahead on the scorecards but he said he injured that shoulder (rotator cuff) as early as the 2nd round. That injury can ruin a career if damaged enough to the point of no return. In retrospect he did the right thing vs. Byrd because he came back to win the WBC twice with a couple of defenses each. He is the only champion to return after a 4 year retirement to reclaim he belt without a tuneup. He also became ½ of the only brothers to hold portions of the HW title at the same time. His place in boxing history is marked, and head to head he's a tough night for any HW in history. Anyone who claims otherwise is touching themselves.
I don't think claiming him to be a tough fight for any HW in history is wrong. Saying he'd clean out the top 10 ATG at the position IS however.
