Haye is clearly the best HW opponent Vitali can fight, yet he is fighting the Charrs of the world. If Vitali retires without fighting Haye, will Vitali's legacy be complete, or will it always have a question mark on it? This content is protected
Lewis. TKO6. That's his ?. The question all will ask is, Why is it that in my prime, I cannot beat a fat 38 year old man who was ready to retire? But yes, he needs Haye and then go
atsch Nobody cares about Haye outside of England. A win over Chagaev would likely mean more for his legacy. Besides, Vitali might pull off the unthinkable and upset Charr which would see him break the ATG top 5 list.
it would make his resume look a bit better, mainly because of Haye's ****-talking, but it doesn't change his legacy to all the critics, what exactly has Haye done as a HW? Haye has dissapointed as a HW, there's no denying it, he said he would change the face of boxing, then fights jokes like Ruiz, and Fraudley, then he dissapointed against Valuev and embarrassed himself by falling to his knees in front of Wlad there's really no one out there he could beat to seal his legacy but Wlad, but as that's not happening, case closed
Vitali suffered a tko in the defining fight of his career. Whether he KO's an historic nobody like Haye in the 6th or the 10th round makes no difference, imo.
What Robney said. Would be a good addition, but not a necessary one. His loss against Lewis is worth 10 times more than a good win over Haye, to be fair. If I were Vitali, I'd take a page of Lennox's book. You're the very end of your career and not as physically good as you used to be, so is it really worth one last fight against pretty dangerous guy?
Vitali would make a sweet $7-8 million vs. Haye, that's what the only thing he may be interested in. The money Haye brings is 10x bigger than the tiny speck of insignificance he'll be on Vitali's track record.
Haye made like 25mil from the Wlad fight? lol If Vitali destroys this opponent it will add to Haye's bargaining power of talking **** and hyping up the fight.
Sanders was pretty bad imo, not to mention woefully conditioned in addition to being 38 years old, the only reason a win over him was meaningful was because be beat Wlad in such devastating fashion. I genuinely think Vitali has a very poor resume of opponents. And I think if Sanders is a better win than Haye then it looks even worse.
And no he doesn't need Haye, but anything less than a knockout of him will look very bad for him, and a loss I think would be a decisive blow to his resume.
