Will Wallin and Parker get fair officiating on Dec 23rd, if AJ v Wilder is next?

    I have a real problem with this fight being unofficially "announced" a few weeks before Joshua v Wallin and Wilder v Parker.

    Remember what happened in Wilder v Ortiz 2 and Fury v Wallin? Both fights which were just before Wilder v Fury 2:

    Wilder v Ortiz 2: Ortiz looked like he was winning every round, and way up on the cards in a world title fight, he gets put down hard with the first real punch Wilder connects and the bell goes to end the round 7. The referee waves it off, without completing his count in world title fight, with Ortiz rising to his feet in between rounds. Ortiz can't believe he isn't allowed to return to his corner to fight on.

    Fury v Wallin: This one was even more blatant. Fury won the fight on the cards, there's no denying that, but the cut was ridiculous, and even more so that a cuts stoppage wasn't enforced.

    So, having witnessed the above transpire in real time, there is no way I now trust Wallin or Parker to get a fair roll of the dice now such a massive fight in Joshua v Wilder is up next. They will both need a clean KO. They aren't winning on cards, and if they score a KD I wouldn't be surprised to see slow counts, unusual doctor activity, or just strangely prolonged referee safety checks.

    I suspect they will need to win in conclusive fashion to get their hand raised.

    Fair response, but judging from the official cards after 6 rounds were completed in Wilder v Ortiz 2. I'm thinking it will have to be extremely conclusive to win on the cards.

    It's fair to say some of us had Wilder losing every single on of the six rounds which proceeded the stoppage at the end of round 7. The official cards:
    ref: Kenny Bayless
    Eric Cheek 58-56
    Dave Moretti 59-55
    Steve Weisfeld 59-55

    That 58-56 card is especially suspect to me, and it was ironic that Wilder called Bayliss a crab in a bucket referee after he waved off Wilder v Fury 2
    Maybe he knew what was up.

    Both Parker & Wallin are capable of winning close decisions against complacent AJ & Wilder who expect their power to bail them out every fight.

    Both Wallin & Parker could get robbed

    The ability to take the fight out of the judge's hands by stopping your opponent, should never be underestimated.

    Well, I don't think Wallin has shown in his previous fights that he will get a stoppage, and I don't see him winning on cards against Joshua. And Wilder always has a chance of at least scoring a KD to "equalise" the cards if he doesn't get the KO. So I don't see them giving Parker the nod if it goes the distance either. They will cook the cards just enough in both fights.

    I suspect Wilder will take the decision out of the judge's hands. But Wallin may be kicking against the wind getting the nod from two judges unless he dominates.

    Parker has a pretty good chin so I reckon six to nine.

    Wallin will box rings around Joshua and get robbed.

    Joshua and Wilder are always A-sides anyway.

    Joshua-Parker (referee gives Joshua plenty of rest by frequently immediately separating the fighters, prevents Parker from working inside and allows Joshua to call his own time outs)

    Wilder-Ortiz 1 (Wilder given an extra 20 seconds of recovery time by the doctor after being badly hurt)

    The scorecards in those fights were suspect as well: 10-2/11-1 for Joshua, 85-84 for Wilder.

    Szpilka and Washington were only given two rounds, fan consensus is they won three. Povetkin was given two rounds, consensus is he won three or four. More examples could be brought up, it's par for the course.

    Wallin and Parker probably need to win 8 clear rounds to get the decision and even that might not be enough. This would have been the case 6 years ago too.

    Joshua and Wilder are two of the most corrupt fighter/management systems in all of boxing, only Canelo potentially matching them.

    When was the last time a Joshua fight was actually scored correctly at all, even his losses? It's never happened.
    Wilder likewise.

    I expect Parker and Wallin to have no chance of winning on points unless they score numerous KD's and it's just impossible not to give them the fight.

    This is bad news for Wallin mostly as Parker will likely go for the KO anyway.

    Of course the officiating won't be fair, the score cards are already filled out.
