If Andre Ward (WBC #2) beats Edison Miranda (WBC #7) will Ward challenge WBC champ Carl Froch? Froch is looking to defend sometime in September I believe.

Froch looks beatable but has that iron will, warrior mentality, and can fight a lot better than he looked last Sat. I reckon he will grow into an Adamek style champion, decent ability but mainly relying on intangibles to get the W.

Ward wants a title fight this year - I believe - but will he be willing to come to the UK? Will it have to be in America? Do Ward's ppl have the clout to get it at home? Would Showtime be willing to travel to televise a Froch fight? Should Froch have to travel after risking his whole career in the Taylor fight?

I'd like to keep this one sensible. We have had loads of crazy Froch threads, which means Frochy is making a lot of progress in the boxing world. Like to keep comments on the likelihood of this fight.

*If Miranda beats Ward I believe Edison will come over to UK, where he fought in his last bout. I don't think Miranda beats Ward.

**ah ****, can anyone move this to Yank forum??

If Ward beats Miranda then I think it's a good fight to make. Froch has to find that chin and he can break him.

Not seen much of Ward but this would probably a good fight and I would pick Ward to win.

Miranda vs Froch would be entertaining and a decent test for Froch.

Ward is slick like Taylor, but has a poor chin & lacks experience. I think Froch would fight better, having been in with Pascal and Taylor. If he - God forbid - fights sensibly, keeps his hands up after punching, jabs his way in, works the body, then goes up to the head...he could do it without TOO MUCH hard work. It is a tricky assignment and I hope he gets it at home.

I like Froch, want him to do well, but I think now he has to stop making it hard for himself. Vs Taylor, it was important just getting the win and cementing his name on the world scene. Now he has to mature into his title and make some really good title defences. I believe Froch can do it.

If Miranda KOs Ward, all this will be academic, though.

But IMO Ward is the next challenger for the WBC title. Reckon Froch can keep winning fights Saad Muhammad style but if he does his career might get cut short by injury.
