Will Ward duck Groves?

I think he would. Just like he ducked Bute.

He hasn't fought an opponent with Groves combination of power, speed and technique yet. Groves definitely stands the best chance of beating Ward and I honestly think Ward knows that and will duck him. If they fought, I'd put money on Groves KOing Ward by round 8.

Groves will soon be THE #1 guy in the super-middleweight division. Fact. He's got speed, power, an excellent jab, superb technique, a lot of heart and determination, good boxing IQ. He just needs to work on his defence and his chin is average, other than that though he is the complete package.

Saying that I can't see him beating Froch. Froch's granite chin will be enough to weather Groves power and he'll finish Groves off late. Ward's chin is nowhere near as good as Froch's and he lacks the power Froch has which is why I think Groves can beat him whereas he can't beat Froch.

Ward's chin doesn't have to be as good as Froch's, his defense is impeccable, and he's better technically inside and outside on offense than Groves anyway. And Groves hasn't faced anyone that notable to prove that combination of attributes works at the top level, his best win is DeGale, which was a debatable outcome. We'll see how well he hangs in against Froch, if he wins, I have no doubt Ward would fight him. If he puts up a very good showing in defeat, a maybe. If he loses badly, not happening anytime soon.

I cant see Groves defeating Froch, I wouldnt rule it out but there is no way he can pass through Froch, I saw the Anderson fight and he looked vulnerable, his footwork is pretty decent maybe to avoid the offensive arsenal from froch but I think he will be clipped eventually, as for the Ward fight I think it would be a chess match just like it was with DeGale

I think Groves will produce a great display and surprise people with his boxing and beat Froch, staggering Froch at some point.
Groves would still need a couple of testing fights to progress, I think Froch may be made for Groves and think Froch is at the end of his career and regardless of the Bute win felt Froch was past his best a good few years back even though still doing well and taking ward to a close decision.
Ward didnt seem to want to face Bute and if Groves looks impressive against Froch who knows.
Ward hasnt yet fought a top undefeated fighter, he could have done that against Bute, maybe he will fight Groves if Groves beats Froch and moves on

Groves is one of my top 5 fighters to watch, really enjoy his fights....BUT his flaws are numerous:-

    1) His defence is ropey, he gets tagged quite easily but he's improving very fast.
    2) His chin is average at best and always will be.
    3) When he gets buzzed he does an Amir Khan and goes to war, only difference being that when he makes it out of the round he listens to his trainer Adam Booth who settles him down again & he can adapt.
    4) But his biggest flaw is his skin cuts far too easily. I've lost count of the number of fights he's been cut early which forces him to speed up the contest & take more risks, under those circumstances against a Ward or a Froch he could get KO'd. He's not at the level to bully those guys.

I fully expect Grooves to school Froch for 5-6 rounds but then get cut to ribbons by Froch's jab. Ref stops the fight on cuts in the 9-10.
I get your point that he has a better chance fighting Ward and he's got more skills than Froch but he still doesn't beat either.

Froch was never the guy to beat, Froch was almost as much as an underdog as Ward in the Super Six. AA and Kessler where the people to beat and bookies faves to sweep through the super six.
