Well let's see the possibilities :

1.Hopkins (175) Cuz he didn't make the weight at the Pascal fight so he can't do no catch weight or 168 no more.
Probably the biggest fight you can make, against a HOF and the LHW Division Champion.Don't know if you really wanna go directly there when you still have so many alternatives at 168

    2. Kessler, leaving no doubt ,big following - great money if you do it in Denmark probably a unification fight to... taking up another strap (WBO). Disatvantage: you as a 2 belt champion #1 in the division the most wanted SMW you go to fight in your enemy country and give him huge advantage? Kessler did it but would Ward return the favor ?

3 Bute, the only champion left undefeated except him , the anticipation of the unknown (is he good enough to beat Ward). After beating Froch( #2 ) you take on the number #3(the next best thing). Huge following , timezone advantage (Showtime/PPV). Might even get the fight at home or neutral (Vegas/AC/NY).

4 Rematch Froch depending on if it's close and/or controversial win.

5 Easy defense (Renan St Juste/Don George/Karoly Balzsay) Pavlik and Andrade should also be an option since they're done right now.

Nice post. For your number 1 to happen, Hopkins must win against Dawson. Ward would have to fight him as soon as possible, of course. If Dawson wins, Ward won't be have to hury to go to LHW.

Between Kessler and Bute, it depends. If both meet eachother in March, there is no question about it: he'll meet the winner.

Well from recent interviews Ward is going to fight Kessler next at least what Virgil Hunter is saying.

DL: Provided you win the Super Six, are you looking at a fight with Lucian Bute if Bute beats Glen Johnson?

VH: Not necessarily. Showtime promised Mikkel Kessler a fight with the Super Six winner. I think Bute should really beat a Carl Froch or an Andre Dirrell, because it would make the fight more interesting [Editor's note: Dirrell has not fought since defeating Abraham and has health concerns]. He should either fight the guy who loses in the finals or he should fight a guy who is Super Six caliber. I don’t think he should get rewarded with the Super Six winner and just hop, skip and jump over high end competition. Kessler is the [WBC] champion emeritus and Showtime promised him the fight. And we intend to keep that obligation if we win. For two reasons… Number one, it’s the obligation. And number two, we’re not pleased with him using the excuses that he’s used on why he lost to us. So we want to give him an opportunity to prove that the fight was a fluke. We want him to really be there this time, so there are no more excuses. He’s lived off of excuses for two years now. [Editor's note: Kessler was defeated by a wide points margin by Ward but complained about head butts]. We want to give him the opportunity to prove that that wasn’t the real Mikkel Kessler. If that wasn’t the real Mikkel Kessler, then we want to beat the real one.

Well, Ward's camp have said many different things in the last weeks. Ward said he could face Bute, Hunter said he could face Kessler. I remember they also talked about Hopkins. They don't have to choose already so I guess we'll see.

One thing is sure: Hunter is not the one negociating Ward's fights.

Bunch o ****. Fighting S6 semi-finalist in Nov, and ask the WBC if they're happy about the WBO hardware Kessler's about to own.

Nice... I want to see him vs Bute.... BUTTT if Bute took on Kessler.. I wouldn't mind seeing the matchup of him vs Hopkins-- even though the style match up at this point would be an ugly, tactical chess match--- i still like the idea of similar styles and talents facing off.. both are world class so it would be a competitive good match up..... But yeah, Bute vs Ward/ Froch should happen for the good of the sport:good

I'm pretty sure that if its a draw/SD/drama the rematch will come first because it will be too good for Showtime to pass that. But if its a kind of Ward/Kessler or Froch/Abraham fight then they will both move on to other stuff.

In this case it all depend on two things:
1-is the fighter tired of the S6 and want a little pause?
2- what is the money offered?

But I sure want to see Bute finally have the opportunity to fight the best out there whether its Ward/Froch/Kessler.

Whats funny is that both he and Dirrell had the opportunity by Showtime to step up pretty fast in competition without having to face others to "prove" themselves and except his win vs Kessler, Ward doesnt have (yet) a better win than what Bute have.

But I'm sure he will go where the money goes and where Showtime wants him to. If Showtime really want a Kessler rematch its fine, but I dont want this rematch, the first was a pretty clear win.

Oh and lets not forget that after the S6 I'm guessing the "straps" will want to force mandatories and that could mess things up.

That's why Kessler-Bute in March and the winner facing the super 6 champion may be the only way to a complete unification.
