Will Ward take a rematch at 175 to grab the light heavy crown?

I think he would win again, although maybe with a bit more difficulty (not much though). Is it worth it to be light heavyweight champ?

No. Not right away, all things considered.

He wants to stay at 168 for another year or two. This is what he has said, more or less.

My guess is that when he moves up, he intends for it to be permanent(in the sense of not going back down).

you act like he did something disgusting. he got the living **** beat of him for most of the fight and knocked down 3 times. how come its ok for a guy like kessler to quit like a ***** because he said "i cant see" rather than "im done"? but you are right, why would he want anymore of that? on the dumb ****s on here think 7 pounds did all that

Certainly not immediately. The fight that would make the most sense, if it can happen, is Ward-Dirrell. I wouldn't be shocked if Hopkins changes his mind about fighting Ward and decides this should be a farewell bout, at 175, and I would think Ward would take that one. An easy fight or two against action fighters, maybe against someone like Edwin Rodriguez or Adonis Stevenson, wouldn't be a bad idea either, giving time for guys like Chavez and Groves to build up their resumes at 168 and make a bigger fight down the road.

Lol you freak... The doc stopped Kessler when he fought Ward. Kessler was actually pressing the action when he got stopped... You should watch thd last rounds again if your memory is off. Come to think of it, I actually think Green did a better job against Ward then Dawson did... (or at least he didn't quit)

    :patsch:rofl
yeah so that was your point. ohhhhhh so the dr stopped it and kessler really wanted to continue right? how did that conversation go again between the ref, dr and kessler after they looked at his cuts? did they ask him if he could see or anything before they just stopped it? let me know what you remember

Certainly not immediately. Ward wants to stay at 168 for a while, plus Dawson needs to re-establish himself on the P4P list in order to maximize revenue.

I can easily see this happening in a couple of years, though.

by the way, you are 100% wrong with that "pressing the action" **** when it was stopped. all ward did was chase him and land 2 big shots on kessler with another cut opening up on the eye lid. unless your definition of pressing the action what Hae did vs Wlad. then you would be right

Ward is the LHW champ. He beat Dawson under the 175 limit.

Dawson has a title now, but Ward is the 168 and 175 champ.
