Will Ward vs KOvalev do better on PPV , Than GGG vs Lemieux did?

Ward barely sells 7-8k in his hometown, Kovalev doesn't clear 4k in New Jersey. Ward is a 250k guy on BET these days and Kovalev isn't carrying a PPV.

As good as they are, no one is buying that PPV.

 

You can not be more wrong, every real boxing fan will buy it, and if promotion would be as good as it was for GGG vs Lemieux i dont doubt for one second it would be more than 150 K.

 

You're not looking for real boxing fans, you're looking for casual fans and they don't gaf about Ward or even Kovalev.

Ward is the A-side while Little g is just a b-level side show attraction.

Ward's name is forever associated with being the P4P #2 in the world, while Little g is someone who after 8 years has still to compete with an A-level opponent.

Kovaleve is regarded as a no-hype fighter who is better than Little g.

Ward - Kovalev will probably do somewhere around 600,000 PPV buys.

To be fair to the Triple Duck, Bumlovkin Lemiuex wasn't really promoted all that much. The expectation from the beginning was that the PPV wouldn't do really huge numbers.

I think K2 halfway realizes the truth regarding Bumlovkin's popularity. He's just not a big draw. At least, not in the US...

 

Kovalev wasn't the "A" side in either of those fights..

 

The idea that Kovalev is unwilling to face Adonis is laughable. He's already taken out two guys that he wanted no part of and I wouldn't like to think of the one sided beat down that would have occurred if Kovalev had stepped into the ring with the version of Dawson that Stevenson poleaxed.

If Kov had the same promotional clout as other fighters he'd have almost definitely cleaned out the division with Ward coming up to challenge him for the definitive right to be number one at 175 whilst making a case for topping the p4p rankings.
