If he wasn't legally bound there'd be zero chance a rematch would be discussed in good faith

Why don't you just wait and see... he didn't have any issues fighting him the first time.

He is contractually obligated to. It is not his choice.

What if he offers him 500k? Or 90/10 split? That's one way the fight never happens

I voted yes. There's no better monetary option for him.

Contractually obligated to what? I think there was a rematch clause for Floyd-fishnets but they only fought one time.

Its in the contract he has to in all fairness. I think he'll stall it for as long as he's allowed though. I just hope the Commission make the contract stand

Despite Ward's concerning language about the rematch, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and vote yes. He was brave enough to step up to fight Kovalev in the first place after all.

Yeah and it may be more this time, wasn't it something like 5million for Ward and 2million for Kovalev, that kinda money should ensure a rematch.
It's also a fight the public will wanna see again as there was some controversy surrounding the result so folk will wanna see if Ward can do the same or improve or if Kovalev can correct his mistakes from the first fight, namely being too patient and falling for Wards street fighting thing, that said I'm not sure what Kovalev can do against Ward when he rushes in with his head down,I would say punch him instead of head locking him?

First, Ward was so frightened of Kovalev and a real challenge that
he would never step in the ring with him.

Ward steps in the ring, gets dropped but takes over the second half of
the fight and wins, now he's so afraid he'll never grant Kovalev a rematch?

    Grow up.

That's exactly what his trainer tried telling him in the fight. If Kov kept his distance and stuck to the jab instead of engage in the wrestling he could've won this fight. He was too tired by the time he started to employ it again in round 10 and Ward had too much built momentum by then as well. The rematch is going to be another close fight but I predict 116-112 Ward.
