With giant 6'6+ monsters like Fury, Wilder etc, I don't see anyone under 6 foot having a chance. He can have the most freakish talent in the world, but it would not make up for the extreme physical disadvantages. It would be insane if someone who was 5'10 and knocks out one of the top heavyweights in boxing
Do not think I have ever seen a 3"7 bantam or a 5'8 cruiser. The OP's point being Mike Tyson was 5'10
Maybe. Big punchers can do it. The style of a very successful shorter heavyweight without a lot of power is very rare.
If you're under 6ft should you have any business in the HW division? You wouldn't naturally be a HW you'd have to eat your way up or build a fair bit of muscle, Mike Tyson was heavily built at heavyweight which isn't really a boxers body. Don't really see the incentive to move up to heavy in the current division, it's not sufficiently worth the risk outside of a UK Joshua fight
There are hardly any heavies at that height anymore, so a championship level one will be really hard to come by
Toney, Tua, Lebedev and Fragomeni come to mind as unders six footers that have had success recently at Cruiserweight and Heavyweight but I would have to agree that they are a dying breed at the higher weight classes.
