Fury, Haye, Chisora and Price would all make big fights and in some cases Mega fights between them

Haye vs Fury - Massive.
Fury vs Price - Massive due to the hype already.
Haye vs Chisora - Already taken place and biggest British fight of 2012
Haye vs Price - If Price beats Thompson in rematch this could be big
Chisora vs Fury - Already taken place but both are bigger names now.
Price vs Chisora - If both get some wins this could be a big domestic fight.

 

And the great thing is..? Even if these guys all beat each other..? Its won't be the end for them, which Derek Chisora is proving, which Price is proving. All these guys have big followings, they are assets or on their way to being assets to the game. "Still work to do", David Haye is selling out a stadium not even in his home city! And he has not even named his opponent yet, its not about the sport its about the individual success.

A loss is overrated, mainly by the casually boxing fans who i cannot stand! It annoys me the way, sports have to dumb everything down, and simplify sports for casual fans who know nothing but Football and living for the weekend.

In the future i see rematches, i see Chisora re-matching Fury.

People need to snap out of this mentality, that once fighters have faced each other its over..? No.

Its never over.

 

I would much rather the top fighters out there sign to fight the best, and do a two fight deal say, than they just defend against softer opponents. Froch vs. Bute turned out to be one-sided, but I still think a rematch is more interesting than e.g. Froch vs. Yusaf Mack; and even if it isn't, if a rematch deal is what it takes to get them to meet at all, then I'm happy that they do it.

Watson was a humble, down to Earth lad who lived with his Mum in a Hackney council flat, and adored boxing as a sport. He had plugged away since 1984 trying to get attention. So imagine if some posh-talking, sharp-suited black Londoner comes along from out of nowhere and calls boxing a mugs game and with that comment gets more attention in one day than Watson had for six years....it irated him. Eubank also ignored Watson at every opportunity as if he wasnt there, with a look of disdain on his face... imagine how much that got under Mike`s skin.

Watson genuinely believed he beat Eubank clearly in their first fight. Eubank publically gloated about the victory and world title for months, while making it clear he only boxed for money - Watsons dream was to be world champion.

 

Hackney is in London, Watson was probably more of a Londoner than eubank, given Eubanks vagabond ways.

I know you are a student of eubank but benn hated the man too, hard to believe Watson disliked him more

Anyway... No. We won't see those sort of rivalries again. It's all smoke and mirrors now, a bit fake, a business. Those guys meant it. It was a different, more naive time

 

Yes, I know Hackney is in London (Eubank also lived near Hackney growing up). The point was, black inner Londoner boxers (/boxer) talking in upper class tones was a bit twattish.
