    Back to boxing.

    Will we ever see it?

Some will say time waits for no man, and Floyd is already showing signs of slowdown. But even so, he is still so far ahead of the pack, he will still dominate regardless. Some will say it will see him beat.

    My other question is this.

If Floyd Mayweather continues to fight the best and remains undefeated until he retires, will he go down as THE G.O.A.T?

Floyd Mayweather is saying 30 months, is Mayweather finished after the groundbreaking mega 6-fight-deal with Showtime? If he beats them all, how do you view Mayweather?

Is he even already up there for you?

Will the judges ever see him lose is an altergether different question. Not that I am saying he has had a load of gifts. Just the one deffo loss for me.

Quite possibly. He's getting older and has quite noticeably slowed. He's easier to hit now so he tends to go toe to toe more. I don't think Guerrero will beat him nor Alvarez if he ever gets a shot. I think Trout would have a fair shout though.

I do think if Floyd fights on for too long then he will lose to someone who's just too young and hungry when he's too old. As great and naturally talented as he is, Floyd Mayweather is human. All great champions are beaten and replaced by younger fighters, it happens to EVERY fighter. Fighters who've previously retired undefeated were guys who go out young or guys with padded records who didn't fight at the top for very long. Just picked up a few good wins then retire on top after fighting guys who were not very good for the majority of their career. Calzaghe and Rocky Marciano spring to mind. Fighters who fight at the top level consistently all lose at some point no matter how good they are, like Muhammed Ali and Ray Robinson.

If he ends up fighting all six of the fights he's agreed with Showtime like some are saying he'll do then he'll definitely lose at least one of them if it's against a world class opponent. Just my opinion. He should fight Guerrero then have one more fight after that, possibly against the Trout - Alvarez winner. After that he should get out and take his money, legacy and 0 with him.

As will said after this post...the Castillo first fight was a loss in many peoples eyes. I thought Floyd won it to be fair.

The thing about Floyd is he a great fighter who cherry picked and will not be remembered like an Ali, Ray Robinson, Duran, Ray Leonard, H. Armstrong etc etc.

Far too many fights he avoided, and he existed in a time of boxing where we have a ridiculous amount of weight divisions especially in the lower weights where you can also have 4 different champions since the WBC, IBF,WBO, AND WBA are now considered elite belts.

When you factor that from 130 to 154 there are 5 weight divisions in a 24 pound range...its laughable. When you times that by 4 which makes a potential 20 different champions then what you get is a very diluted, congested and difficult to read situation.

He was there to be beaten by oscar as well if he could have kept using his jab.

That fight was closer than some would have you believe as well.

But the Castillo fight is the only one that in my mind I can definitively say he lost.

Yes, he will probably carry on fighting for many years past his prime and lose about 7 or 8 times.

If you doubt it, just think. Ten years ago people were asking the same about Roy Jones Jr. (DQ loss to Griffin notwithstanding).

Mayweather Jr. doesn't seem like type to retire away from the limelight for long. He's all arrogance and ego. A narcissistic personality.

No way is he the greatest of all time.

What are his defining fights? His legacy fights? He has ducked his biggest challengers!

The man has immense talent, but he hasn't even cleared out a division in years or tried to.

The money ruined him, plain and simple.

When you look at his record his lack of unification fights is quite staggering.

And besides, all he ever does is face fighters that are either one or two divisions below him.

And no way will he retire in 30 months time. There's too much money at stake for him to give up. What else will he do for money? He's got no sponsors (look, how much Jordan makes with Nike per year!), no property portfolio (damn, he could have had millions through this, IMO. Larry and Oscar have...), he's got NOTHING.

And besides, he'd probably make more from a loss.

    Hugely disappointing.

He's a great businessman (I don't get how he got into the position he is at now? Not like he was as devastating as Mike Tyson, was it?) and a great Boxer, but he isn't a REAL fighter who will face anyone, anywhere.

Dont mean **** but he doesnt mind holding on them for ages without fighting .... plus you would imagine more belts on the line would mean more money.

    we might do...
hes an immense talent whos beaten a list of big names...Paq was his biggest threat
I cant see Canelo doing or RG doing anything he hasnt seen before. I think Bradley could ask him some tuff questions but i think he cant beat them clearly.

Ego will be his downfall someone who lives and breathes boxing who sometimes trains at 2am who has done it since he was a kid is going to struggle to just stop - if he gets beat once you can bet your bottom dollar he will want to fight again just to not retire on a loss
