Yes, though may have to wait 4, 5, 6 years or something but we know he's a gambler, has kids and has a huge ego so he'll be around for a long while yet chasing cash.

I agree with you,he should fight more often if he is holding a title but you can't blame him for the behavior of governing bodies.
As far as titles go though they ain't important to Floyd at this stage, for example Manny Pacqauio is not a title holder but if Floyd were to fight him it would probably be the highest earning fight of all time.Same goes for the likes of Amir Khan he doesn't hold a title but yet a fight with him in the UK would be huge in terms of revenue.

True but in the past i would have liked to have seen him unify divisons. I cant blame him now that he doesnt want to unify but in the early days he could have done more cleaning up of divisions.

Mayweather is very beatable now especially as his leg's aren't what they used to be, with the right boxer and gameplan he'll lose....if Robert Guerrero boxes from the outside like he did against Katsidis he'd have a far better chance then fighting on the inside like he did against Aydin and Berto.

I still think Amir Khan would be a nightmare for Mayweather if he boxed like he did against Kotelnik and never got involved in exchanges.

mayweather would destroy khan, imo, and beat him any which way he wanted.

i dont think he will lose unless he in a weight he shouldnt be at, or fights in 5-6 years. hopefully he cashes out as he says in 30 months with a perfect record, and the names on it are impressive.

If Mayweather is to ever be considered a ring great, then he needs to fight and beat the best at an unnatural weight. OK he started of small, but he found his natural weight at Welter. If he wants to be considered an all time great, then he needs "legacy" fights, fights that will enhance his legacy now, and in the future, these fights are fights against the very best outside of your natural habitat. Fighters that will continue afterwards to do great things, which will continue to enhance your legacy, when you aint even fighting. Calzaghe-Hopkins for instance. Calzaghe is still viewed better and better everytime Hopkins wins.

    Fights like:

    Sergio Martinez
    Saul Alvarez (a must)
    Austin Trout
    Andre Ward (will never happen)
Manny Pacquiao (wouldn't do as much for it as it once did)

Mayweather could go down as an all time great in the sport, and has beat some very good fighters who have gone on to do great things afterwards. But he has fought fighters in fights relevant many years ago, Shane Mosley for instance. Unfortunately he will always be tainted with a brush, because people don't give him the credit after fights. These people have always tried to suppress the victories, and probably always will. No matter what he does, or who he beats. They tune in to see him get beat, and when he wins, "the opponent was ****"....he made them look ****!

He would solidify his legacy regardless of what people say, if he moved up and beat the best at an "unnatural" weight (he did fight Cotto at 154 granted)

Fighting someone like Robert Guerrero (and I rate Guerrero) but I am also a realist. Robert Guerrero does nothing for Floyd Mayweather, its a lose-lose fight, it does nothing for him even if he wins. It doesn't move nothing on, and the down players will be out in force if he wins anyway. We already know this. (they already are)

But I don't think Floyd Mayweather is interested in legacy at all, he is interested in an undefeated record and going down as a money maker. He probably arrogantly (and wrongly) thinks his legacy is already set in stone. But when its all said and done, and he aint around anymore. He will be forgotten like yesterdays news, where the true greats are still remembered.

At 36, he aint even in the conversation.....yet.

In more than 100 years of boxing very few have retired after a stellar career without suffering a loss and marciano is the only one who has done it after facing every single dangerous opponent in sight so its highly unlikely for floyd to be just the 2nd man to do it

Out of this 6 fight deal, i can see him fighting about 5 times in the next 30 months barring injury. Think he'll lose at least once, more than likely to Canelo next summer which'll make him the new poster boy, that fight wont happen in Sept.

As many have already touched on, he's got some good wins on his record but no great wins and i cant see that changing.

Possible great wins as of now would have to be a couple from -
    Martinez (already ruled it out)
    GGG (cant see it happening)
    Ward (wont happen)
Pac (although it wouldnt be as great as it wouldve been around 09', so maybe a good win)

But we're more likely to see him face some of the following -
    Alexander
    Maidana
    Canelo
    Berto
    Bradley
    Garcia

GGG & Ward are far too big.

Ggg said he would happily make light middle to fight floyd, can't say the same about ward mind.

Ggg doesn't look like a big middle to me.

    He probably would.

Everyone would want to see if it was a one-off or whether he is indeed finished.

Being stretched by Rahman didn't do Lewis too much long term damage legacy wise.... a defeat by Pacquiao wouldn't have affected Floyd either.

    :deal

It's ****ing ridiculous but at the at the same time, it proves how good he is.

People calling for a WW v SMW?? :patsch

I'd fancy Floyd to school everyone at WW, JWW & even MW...
