i know i sound like ivan drago but

will we ever be able to analyise a fight between 2 fighters who never fought to determine a winner in a fantasy matchup, i say no but here me out. Im not talking about 1 punch knock out wins, i mean the better man.

How can you analyse a fight which never took place?

They did the Ali v Marciano thing but that was nonsense.

no, this can't be done. there are so much unknown factors that need to be included in the calculation.

yes but this would create an expected victory only. every boxer has a punchers chance no matter who it is. so a winner could not be predicted. plus a boxer could change tactics during a fight. so it is stupid IMO

i understand what you are saying but the thiong is there is noway of analysing this using technology. even if it takes in details of both styles and all the other factors. becuase sometimes fighters are so alike that it depends on who preforms better on the day.

it only takes a split second to lose consentration and wind up on the canvas. however if the technology measured the hand speed and power of the fighter and contrasted it with head movement and agility and stamina maybe we can get a straight forward conclusion.

We would all like to see the Rocky/Mason Dixon type reality Boxing Match - but it's not going to happen.

Now if someone happens to find/build that Time Machine - we can get any fight we want. But it's just wishful thinking.

thats why i said not every fight i.e unexpected knock outs i just mean who is the better man as in if 2 fighters fought 10 times who would win the majority

you would need a computer that can exactly simulate and record the every thought of each fighter in order to do it accurately...impossible unless you're talking about cloning both fighters....and even then its not sure.
