:nut No they don't. And if they do they're playing to national or racial biases and insecurities that peeps like you have. Experts s/be logical and honest. Hardly any of those top 70s HWs would be more than fringe contenders today - if even that What Mr. Iron Chin said
frazier would melt down to cw now, and get destroyed. ali had no power to keep modern guys honest. foreman never got in shape to be active for twelve rounds, ever.
Look, if smallish guys like Ibragimov and Chagaev can still be relevant, than so could Frazier, who through a lot more punches then either. Foreman never got in shape to go 12? Apparently you never saw his epic fight with Evander Holyfield when he was over 40. Ali had no power to deal with...who? Outside of Wladdy, who is even in his league to give him a decent fight?
both povetkin and takam are far bigger, stronger, faster, and have less body fat then frazier. either would rip his head off. frazier was a god awful athlete, even for the early seventies. he got humiliated on superstars by snow skiers, and soccer players. i said foreman never once got in shape to go an active twelve. you bringing up holyfield helps my point. ali is the most overrated athlete in the history of mankind.
Bobbing and weaving are still around. You just don't notice it because today's top heavyweight still hits his opponents when they are bobbing and weaving ( you might want to ask Chris Byrd about that ).
Frazier had magnificent stamina and power in the hook. He was an incredible athlete in the skills specific to boozing...he just wasn't a weight lifter or a distance runner. You apparently didn't see the fight where cruiser king Marco Huck gave Povetkin all he could handle. Great fight. I like the guys in this era as a well, but to say the guys in the 70s could not compete...I think you are overstating a little.
or a sprinter, swimmer, bicycler, etc. he sucked at sports, other than boxing. thus, a horrible athlete. i'm not sure how boozing skills apply.
Funny typo there. Since he was a boxer, it doesn't matter that he couldn't swim. There is no such thing as "athleticism." In fact, if you are a real fan of the sport, you will see that a lot of guys pull the "athleticism" card when their guys sucks donkey balls (ahem...Deonte Wilder). Skills are sport specific. Even specific kind so stamina do not always translate well between sports.
i'll agree with your point here. figured tou were one of the guys saying all the best athletes are in other sports. they always have been. look at basketball or hockey. the thugs can rarely ever begin to actually play.
