Hopkins wanted Martinez at a catchweight of 170lbs. By that, Hopkins can't go below 170. If Martinez didn't take that fight at that weight, neither would Floyd CATCHweather.

You all really think the most craftiest vet in the sport, who's also an ATG, doesn't know how to deal with Floyd? LOL Hops may be old as hell, but he still wins fights, and lets not forget Mayweather is aging too. Hops doesn't need speed to beat Floyd, he knows how to win fights without speed and would nullify Floyds speed. Don't be foolish to write hopkins off. Floyd has never faced anything like him.

I would pay 10x more to see Floyd fight hopkins than any of the other tomato cans out there today

I'm with you 100% in theory, but Hopkins actually told me once (and has stated in several interviews) that he was dying to make 160 back when he was fighting Jermain. That was what? 8 years ago now back when he was the tender young age of 40?

If people thought Dawson looked like a zombie against Ward...

hops wouldn't have to make 160. floyd would fight at 150 and hops at 165. the 15 lb weight difference is no stranger to floyd. floyd also would have the age advantage for a change. I think floyd wins easy over 12. big money fight for both....for boxing purists a dream come true...for casual fans mayble less of a thrill.

Ehm.. i have never given hopkins + points for beating up lower weight fighters like Trinidad and Hoya.. much more if he ends up fighting Mayweather. Why cant he just fight one of the Klits,, then maybe we can talk about him being the GOAT.

there is no way Floyd has an easy time with Hopkins, unless hopkins is dead in the ring from old age already. But I've seen Hops time and time again defy critics and come through as an underdog. And hops ring smarts negates Floyds. It would be a close fight, Hops would bring Floyd into deep water and make floyd fight out of his comfort zone. Hops knows how to rough opponents, get in their heads, he wouldn't let Floyd breath and Hops would be the first fighter to really time Floyd and throw when he throws. Not saying Floyd couldn't beat him, but we would get to finally see what Floyd is made of

Mayweather Hopkins will never happen, no point in even discussing it.
