Will Wilder be able to get over the demons over the 2nd fight beatdown?

The problem Wilder has is that it's impossible to train for Fury. He can fight inside/outside, forward/backwards, regular/southpaw. To beat Fury a fighter has to adapt in the moment and Wilder doesn't seem to do that.

 

If I was Fury I’d come out with a replica of Wilders suit but just the head as I was being carried out like a king on a throne with the head at my feet. Then have a blow up doll propped up with all of the injuries and excuses he said written on it lol

Thing about Fury is you never know when some psychological problem will surface. Then again, you can say that in addition to being generally stupid, Wilder has his own psychological problems - not being able to accept a loss, making too many excuses, etc. So perhaps the psych edge is a wash or likely with Fury.

 

I agree with you about Wilder’s apparent lack of intelligence. However, I think that is why he will lose fight 3 even more convincingly than he did fight 2. Compare Wilder to the following HW greats: Louis vs Schmeling; Holyfield vs Bowe; Lennox vs Rahman. Each of these fighters accepted their defeat, honestly assessed their performance, and devised a game plan to do better in the rematch. Meanwhile, Wilder blamed his loss on Breland, the weight of his ring walk attire, Fury’s rabbit punching, gloves, and clinching. Wilder’s psychologically weak and his aura of invincibility is shattered.

 

I don't think he sees it as a genuine loss, I think he believes his delusions and will be as confident as ever.

 

no he cant. the level of skill at hw is abysmal, compared to other weights. fury makes lots of mistakes, its just he hasnt fought anyone, or any team, that can recognize them and exploit them. for example, fury bends to his right, the same way, every time he feels a right coming. a top team would send their fighter in armed for that. feint and drop the right down and to the left, or uppercut the spot you know hes gonna be. that goes for other mistakes or vulnerabilities i see in him. thats why i pick aj to beat fury, hes got what it takes to make fury pay for his mistakes.

as for the op question, it depends. if most of the damage was done by a well placed shot in a weak spot, like it appeared to have happened, he should be ok, and we may even see an improved version of him next fight. but if it was just a general accumulation of punches, then hes gonna be in trouble again.

 

No. He might convince himself he never lost the second fight the way he did, but as soon as Fury begins to land again he'll start getting flashbacks and begin to fall apart. The body remembers even if the mind chooses not to.

 

I am concerned that Wilders mental health will deteriorate when he has no suit on at all, the gloves /wraps are perfect, the caring professional trainer is out of his corner & he still suffers from a catastrophic loss...asylum here he comes...

It’s nothing about demons or any of that, Fury is just too big for Wilder. He’s also too skilled, but his size combined with skill is too much. Wilder can’t fight on the inside, and that’s why I’ve always hated this fight for him.

 

Wilder is great with straight long punches, his hooks/uppercuts/short punches are nothing to write home about and that’s why he won’t beat Fury. I give AJ a better shot at beating Fury even though I still believe Wilder stops AJ. Styles make fights...
