Rated number 2 by Ring, and number 3 by TBRB. The effort that Stiverne produced is irrelevant to the question of whether Wilder has faced a Top 5 contender.

And number 2 by Ring at the end of 2014. Wilder faced him in January of 2015.

Better questions: Will Wilder continue to live in these keyboard warriors' heads rent-free? Can they at least go find someone who can get their facts straight?

    No worries.

Wilder's resume is pretty skimpy in general, but he does have a victory over someone rated in the Top 5, and another guy who is currently rated in the TBRB Top 10 (Duhapas). It's not completely barren.

To answer the TS question. It's time for Wilder to step up he was doing the right thing facing Povetkin but the failed test messed that up. After he comes back from injury he better fight someone in the top 5 by the end of 2017 or I will lose respect for him.

Stiverne was nice but that was years ago. The Povetkin thing wasn't his fault he signed to fight him. He's injured but he needs to come back with a vengeance and fight someone in the top 5 as soon as he's healed by the end of next year.

Very true. Wilder is a rather frustrating fighter. A lot of potential still, just no hurry to achieve it?

I'm not trying to be funny because I'm confused. When Stiverne won the vacant WBC title over Areeola, he was ranked 6th by Ring and Fightnews? I say that to say this. Stiverne was ranked 6th holding the WBC strap before he fought Wilder?

I see Drew clarified things. I don't go by Ring or Fightnews anyway.

What rankings do you go by? Ring's have always been the most credible.

The alphabet organizations ranking. Ring would only count if we had one title.
