Peter Fury says Wilder's people are not playing ball... Wilder's people saying the same about the Furys. What do you think??
Given the history of matchmaking, I'm inclined to believe Team Fury. At least his camp showed they weren't afraid to match him aggressively with Chisora and Haye. If it doesn't come through, it's probably because Deontay's people don't feel he's ready.
Deontay ain't ready. However, this would be a good WBC eliminator. I wonder if Fury will consider facing Solis. I hope they consider making Fury vrs. Arreola. If Fury is waiting till February, that would give them enough time to find a US venue and get HBO backing.
This fight should happen right now. It is extremely timely for the HW division. Both need an opponent...
Did Fury unretire in the last 5 hours and I missed it? If Hennessey has a fighter (i.e. an unretired one) and they want to make a fight, they need to make an offer. If it's a fair one we can judge, but with no offer then it's just a lot of talk.
Announced it on twitter. When people took it as a joke, he came back and reiterated it. Hughie, as far as I know, is still active.
It wont happen no time soon. I hate to agree with the racist Farmy but he is right about Wilder. He will not take a risky fight fir nothing. I seen Wilder sparring with Haye and he lacks skills bad.
Do you really go by what Fury says on twitter?? You have to understand Fury is mentally unstable. But he is crazy also. He is not retired at all. Grabimir should give him a fight since he will not be fighting feather fisted Pulev next. But from what I've heard WLad wants to rematch Chambers next.
I believe Fury meant it when he said he is retired. I also believe he will change his mind ... but right now it would be impossible to put a fight together between him and Wilder or anyone else if he isn't mentally up to fighting. Hennessey said as much in talking to the Belfast Telegraph: he "stressed that Fury needs time to get over the disappointment" of the Haye fight falling apart. This was after Hennessey called Golden Boy, so it stands to reason that they aren't able to make an offer to Wilder because they have to get their own guy to be willing to fight first.
I read that Peter Fury said that Tyson did not really mean he would retire. He meant that if he had to put up with all the crap that Haye caused him he would retire.................I read that today...........
