Most likely, it depends on how long it takes. If Vitali has one more fight, then Arreola vs Stiverne will be delayed again until late in the year, so the earliest he could fight for it would be next year at the age of 38, but you bet they will try duck him. In the mean time he will have to fight Kubrat Pulev, who I think is his toughest opponent in years. It'll be interesting, but I think 2013 will be the last year of Klitschko dominance. Vitali will be retired by then, Wladamir will be 38 and the division is heating up, without bug brother around he'll be in the position of taking on all comers, and someone will get to him at some point
There is no point going for a bogus title, he is accepted as the world champion at the weight, all that piece of **** will do is cost him money in sanctioning fees.
It would make him the first undisputed champion since lewis he may be "accepted" but theres a difference between the "accepted heavyweight champion of the world" and the "undisputed heavyweight champion of the world"
No there isn't, undisputed is just a word that covers up all the bull**** regarding the titles. I don't accept the WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO as world titles. So the term undisputed means jack ****.
Well it does to me, and to a lot of people, yes all the belts are bull****, but that makes mopping every last one of them up a real achievement, it takes some doing and should be celebrated imo, if we ignore it, it only makes the problem worse, because fans are going to just pick the most popular fighters as the "accepted" champion, like guys like austin Trout would not have been considered in the mix before he did cotto.
We will always disagree on this then, personally I think the more people that ignore the belts completely will be for the better, the alphabet organizations are a joke and if people accept them then they will only get worse.
There's a bit of a queue for the WBC title, arreola, stiverne, fury, haye, charr, chisora. Vitali will have his work cut out if he is to continue, I can't see it though.
Im with Bill but its a shame, as a boxer surely you would want to call yourself THE world champion in your division, but you cant you have to say I'm ONE of the world champions in the division...doesnt even sound right.
I would think Wlad would love to be called undisputed and then most likely retire himself, however I can't see the WBC giving him that chance as they will want their "own" champ. I would hope I'm wrong as I think Wlad gets a very "bad press" from fight fans and being undisputed might make some actually open their eyes...
It's not like these alphabet crooks have one belt per weight class, the WBA have 3 per weight class, interim, regular and super? Anyone that supports or reconize these ''champions'' and these ****ing parasites running them are not helping this sport in any way shape or form. One champion in one division is all that's needed, you get better fights overall because the contenders will be fighting each other just to get a crack at the champ. I think some people need to pull their head out their arse regarding this and accept the straps for what they are. A worthless meaningless piece of ****.
I'm surprised that Sillyman and Co haven't tried to manoevre themselves into Wlad's next fight. I mean.... him vs anyone would bring in more money than Arreola vs Stiverne, and have more credibility as a championship fight too.
