If he beats Jennings, he will be three years away from Joe Louis' 12 year record. That would happen in early 2018, Klitschko will be 41 years old. In those three years he could reach 25 title defenses. I am of course considering Louis' 4 year hiatus into his overall reign. His actual active reign was 8 years (less than Wlad). Numbers aren't everything, but it's interesting to consider.
He will only retire when something more lucrative comes along, i.e. hollywood acting career. His brother's dream was becoming a high ranking politician, but Wlad's ambition for the sport runs deeper. Given his discipline, the state of current pharmacology and the fact that he has no detrimental habits, he might as well reign till he is 50.
I think Wlad needs to pick up his pace a bit more. If he unifies belts then he'll be a one stop shop for every contender and should start knocking people out 3-4 times a year. I really only see Wlad having 2 possible challenging fights in the near future but I think he can do it.
Years ago, I thought that Wlad's goals was reigning for several years (4-5). Now, IMO his short-term goal should be having 20 title defenses and reigning 10 years (reachable in early 2016). This is already very ambitious considering he previously had a decent WBO reign. But, as time passes, I think he could make an extra effort and beat Louis' record.
Yes by the looks of it. Wlad is in better condition than most fighters half his age and has the boxing IQ and experience. It's almost like watching a heavyweight Tommy Hearns, only thing, there's no heavyweight Leonard, Hagler, or Duran for him to play with.
Wlad needs to drop the Chili Peppers song and come out to this.:hey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kyw-GQHWoTI
nono Can't stop is a great song, that Haye entrance was so electric, loved it. He's one of the only guys that provides a great ring entrance even though he is boring in the ring.
never gonna happen... I keep telling wlad we need to get the RHCP to play Can't Stop live while he walks in. Hopefully it will happen since we have met them many times and they are huge Klitschko fans
he means every boxer who signs to fight Wladschko. They automatically become bums/stiffs/journeymen/shot/etc the moment the fight is made, no matter their level or hype before that. on subject: Not many more years. I expect him to retire inside a couple of years, and with nobody out there at the moment I expect him to stay on his unbeaten streak.
