I would like to see him fight Anthony Joshua for his 26th defense.

That would be a great last fight (assuming AJ is undefeated and stepped up in competition).

Yeah, Klitschko has the athletic ability to stay on top for several more years but his self-discipline might wane now that he's more or less a family man. Some athletes decline once their personal lives become closer to "normal". The reason for that is from a young age their sport was the main thing in their lives but once they have their family/ social life they don't focus mentally or physically to the point of being the top of their sport anymore. Klitschko always seemed like a very emotionally stable person inside and outside the ring so chances are he'll handle the changes well enough to continue as he is.

I hope he handles well the balance between family and boxing career.

His short term goal should be reaching 20 title defenses by 2016.

Long term goal: Break Louis record.

What he has done already is historical.

Wlad would need 10 defenses this year to reach 20, and 15 more to tie Louis' record. He didnt win the lineal title until Chageav and that is the only one that counts in this instance.

Klitschko needs to fight some opponents like Louis fought i.e. Johnny Davis (3-3) for a title fight.

    Tony Galento

    Red Burman etc.:deal

How do you figure he has been the lineal, undisputed champion for 17 defenses? :huh

There are some purists who still value the lineal title more than anything else. I think reality is much more complex.

If we only consider the lineal title, why Hart-Root was established as the title fight to declare the new champion post Jeffries? You could cuestion every championship after Jeffries retired.

You actually give value to Shannon Briggs' reign?

If Holmes' reign is generally regarded as starting in 1978 or 1979 (even though Ali was still champ in 1978 ), Wlad reign's beginning is in 2006. Purists will say, however, that Wlad's reign started in 2009 and Holmes' reign in 1980 (he would have only 8 defenses and not 19 or 20).

You're saying Wilder is currently disputing Wlad's claim to being the undisputed championship? LOL

The only one I can see right now who could be a future danger for Wlad is Joshua, in about 2 years, but thats up to AJ do really be a danger one day.. :deal
