Yes. Every fighter should retire after they lose 1 fight.:nut All we can do is thank the boxing gods that this was not the case with Ali/Frazier/ Norton,Holyfield/Bowe,Gotti/Ward etc.. Because those rematches sucked.

All joking aside. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch any way that it ends. More so if Wlad were to lose, but even after he wins I wouldn't have a problem giving Haye a rematch. As long as it's not a stinker like the Ibragimov fight.

Even though I thoroughly dislike Haye and the Whole way he got the belt( the chageav/Valuev thing ; Champion in recess and all) I believe that if another match could generate as much excitement again in the division It be good for the sport.

Will it happen is a totally different thing, as I see both sides making it extremely difficult for it to happen. Maybe more so on Hayes side cause of the retirement thing. Assuming Haye doesn't retire How could their paths not cross again seeing as they would both still be up there in the rankings. But with Wlad's resume and title reign how should he not be expected to get a direct rematch.

And again maybe it will suck as bad as the Ibragimov fight and no one will even care about a rematch.

he will develop a career ending injury that he suffered before the fight, but fought on because he is a warrior....he will then be spotted no less than 3 days later playing golf, swimming and lifting weights

Make no mistake, if Wlads jaw gets shattered his whole career, legacy and record is shattered. Haye is the first fighter anyone has given a chance to beat him since his losses/knockdowns. There is more pressure on Wlad than at any time in his career, and if he wins it will likely be the win of his career and a legacy maker. I also think he would desrve a ton of credit for a win, as long as its not a KO via jab RD1 or something.

The first fight with the undefeated Peter, many thought Peter could beat him.

Will Boeing retire their jet aircraft fleet if pigs learn how to fly and people fly on pigs instead of planes?

    Same chance.

If Wlad lost the only fight for him would be rematch. Otherwise surely the loss would mean retirement for him.

Haye is so open, so often and so off balance that I just can't see how Wlad loses this fight. Unless Haye gets in a clean and 100% full power punch in on Wlad, I don't think he has the power to stop him. Now Wlad in the other hand only has to jab hard a couple of times and that should suffice for putting Haye down, or keeping him on his bicycle all night.

He would try for a rematch but probably won't get one and then retire

I don't see why he would retire if he lost. Losing is part of the sport, and it's something that he has already overcome before. I would expect him to once again pull himself up and come back for his titles.

Normally I would agree... Stupid to retire after a loss.
But in this case it's different.

Just say Haye retires after beating Wlad by KO (yes it is possible), after that all belts are up for grabs and Wlad can easily get one (Probably the IBF version).
    But then...
    - He will not be the big draw he was.
    - He will not be "the man" at HW (that's Vitali)
    - He will be avoided like the plague (huge risk, moderate reward)

    My view;

True, but losing to the first real threat in years and the most dangerous opponent since his last KO loss won't look good on Wlad.
