Good post. All true, except Mormeck did a lot more at HW with those wins than Haye did to earn his shot.

Haye beat Barrett in far better fashion, but not all fights are decided inside the distance. Mormeck was a WEAK but worthy opponent. And most importantly, WILLING.

Same for Thompson. The IBF went down the line looking for fighters to enter their tournament. The best 4 willing were Chambers, Thomspon, Harris, and Rossy. Yeah, not exactly the creme de la creme, but all worthy fighters.

Some ppl just don't understand that boxing just aint pitting the "man of the hour" against the champ whenever said man gets a notion to make a challenge.:rofl:rofl:rofl

 

K2 got what was coming to.them after they ****ed Chisora over. He had to pay for travel, accommodation etc., for two fights without any compensation. He had to pay for two training camps without any compensation.

That is hugely unfair and he is well within.his rights to be pissed off at K2 for costing him so much money without any sort of compensation.

I could link an article that says Mormeck was a mandatory for one of the titles at the time, but I won't as it's the only source I can find and I personally don't believe it Mormeck was more of a 'because no one else will' defense, with Arreola refusing to fight Wlad multiple times...

Wlad was injured and POSTPONED the fight. The second fight was boycotted by David Haye.

Wlad rightly chose Haye as he was being criticized for accepting a challenge from a 14-0 fighter who only held the British title anyway.

Hindsight is 20-20, as we all mostly know DelBoy would have at least come to fight, but at the time, unification was far more important to Wlad, esp considering the animosity created by the tshirt ordeal.:thumbsup
