I don't see the point in him carrying on, to be honest. He must have plenty of money in the bank by now.
I understood him wanting to get the Tyson Fury rematch, but that's never happening.
What does Wlad hope to achieve at 41 years old ?

It took him years to collect all those belts the first time around, and he never had the WBC belt, so he can't exactly hope to become undisputed champion at this stage. At best, he might pick up two belts. Or he might get his old ass kicked by anyone.

Will he fight again or get some sense and retire ?

You can always improve your legacy. Just because you are great doesn't mean you can't be greater.

I hope so. I think he has more to offer against fighters that aren't even more negative than he's been at his worst, especially ones that are now proven cheaters.

He is in damn good shape for 40 year old. So why not continue go and fight Joshua, Wilder or Ortiz. I'd favor Wlad against any of them.

He hasn't fought since this time last year. 12 months gone already. And he looked bad against Fury.
Two training camps and an injury and some layers of rust later, I'm not sure we can say what sort of shape he'll really be in. He might look good but that doesn't translate to boxing form.

That's true, but at some point the likelihood or being embarrassed and hurt outweighs the likelihood of enhancing the greatness.
I'd say Wladimir's a borderline case now. Better to quit a fight or two too early, than quit a fight or two too late.
On the other hand, if he retires he might regret it and second-guess himself forever.

IMO, the timing seems right for him to fight Wilder. That's the one he should pursue, he hasn't held the WBC belt yet.

The Joshua bout could be set for June or July in Wembley, a much bigger option. It gives Joshua time to get rid of his mandatory and clear the path.

The IBF belt has Pulev as mandatory and the WBA has a mess with Oquendo, Briggs, Ustinov, Browne, all bad options for Klitschko, so why is he interested in touching that?!!

Klitschko has outgrown the ABC titles for some time now, no reason to seek them anymore, he should focus on the fights the public demands.

According to Hearns, Joshua vs Klitschko is likely to be announced in December, everything is agreed but they need AJ to beat Molina.

So I'm guessing he does fight again.

Yes, he will fight again. While older, Wlad was never really punished in a fight, and with the division being bad or if your prefer unproven why not?

If he is physically able, I'm sure he will return. He's become more injury prone as he's gotten older and eventually his body will give out, you can't keep pushing it to the level he has for some many years without some wear and tear. He's had a lot of fights for the modern era, that's a lot of training camps where he's pushed himself to the peak of physical fitness and that's going to take a toll on anyone's body.

I don't think he wants to end his career on such a low with the loss to Fury. It's hard for any fighter to retire and the loss to Fury while bad wasn't a brutal fight or physically demanding, just frustrating and I think it would take more of a beat down to force him to retire, so like many before him we'll see Wlad hang around for too long.

I am sure Wlad is not overly invested in the sport to end up being bounced back off the canvas in multiple losing fights like certain other champions have been.

He will only need one fight like that at his age, with his children and family for him to retire. No point in taking any silly risks with his health now.

Yes he will return and but if he loses to AJ that is it.

I just don't think he wants to finish with a loss. For that reason alone, I think he will fight at least once more.

It looks like a Joshua fight is being lined up for April, if that doesn't pan out he'll fight someone else. I'm sure he wouldn't want to end his career off the Fury debacle.
