Will Wlad's lackluster performances in major title fights affect his ranking?

It seems like whenever the world is anticipating a major heavyweight title fight Wlad lays an egg. I think this might put him behind other fighters with more memorable fights.

Yes, the way in which you win should have a bearing on your ATG ranking

Ask yourself this: Does having memorable fights put you in ATG rankings? Where does Gatti rank?

His power scares guys. It's not his fault. He shouldn't have to go ALL IN on some guy he's easily outboxing just to appease a moronic fan. Would Mayweather ever do that?

Haye and Iggy tried to not get KO'd, not win. Not Wlad's fault at all, the W is all that matters there.

    Absolutely 100% absolutely.

You flush your legacy down the tube if you can't beat guys without consistent fouling. The fact that Wlad does it in the worst HW era in history makes it even worse.

Wlad has a despicable code of conduct. He is not an honourable sportsman and that is all he'll be remembered for.

No it won't. In the end, Wladimir will be appreciated and respected for dominating as long as he did. Anyone that knows this sport will also know it's NOT easy to stay in shape and be consistent for long and Wladimir has been coming in top mental and physical shape his entire career. That demands to be respected and highly rated which it will be in the long run. Fans in general will remember, appreciate and miss him when he's gone right after they see clowns in comical physical conditions like Fury, Ruiz Jr., Chisora...etc exchange world titles every three months.

In 40, 50 years time the numbers will be Wlad's legacy (number of titles, number of title fight wins, number of Ko's ect)

Its not his fault his era wasn't full of top fighters, he will go down an an ATG no doubt in my mind due to the facts/numbers.

It seems like posters that aren't even Klitschko fans start to get hyped up for Wlad's big unification fights (Ibragimov, Haye, Povetkin) and feel really disappointed afterwards.

Not all of Wlad's fights are boring but it seems like Wlad puts on his more lackluster performances when even North America is interested.

So I'm just wondering if people view Wlad's career as a whole or mostly for his mega fights that are considered "duds".

Like people will give a **** how good Wlads physical condition was. The performance in the ring is what metters and what will be remembered.

Wlad Being in condition is all his clueless nuthuggers have left.

he has had some poor showings but it's not all based on his reticence to engage, it takes two to tango, if your opponent runs the whole fight it's difficult to knock them out spectacularly...

Lots of "exciting KO's" are when both guys are punching and one throws the tighter or straighter punch that connects first, if a guy just plays defense because he's afraid it's hard to be that destroyer.

Byrd, Brock, Peter, Thompson and Mormeck all tried to throw punches and got Ko'd

Austin didn't get the chance to throw a punch, Wach took a pounding

Haye, Chambers, Povetkin didn't engage making it difficult to KO them even though he landed that brutal hayemaker on Chambers in the 12th

I think history will remember Wlad more fondly than most people think, it's hard for me to consider a man with 51 KO's a boring fighter even if he did have some stinkers...
