Gatti is in the hall of fame precisely for having memorable fights and being the Ultimate Blood and Guts Warrior.

I'm asking again. Where does Gatti rank in the ATG lists despite all his memorable wars?

Right on man, good post. I was initially thinking yes it will hurt his reputation but you make a good point. Hard to ignore a guy with 51 KO's, some fighters don't have that many wins.

the HOF is one step towards ATG,

thrilla in manilla enhanced frazier's legacy and thus his atg ranking even though he lost

always remember the fighters career overall but not forgetting the **** fests when they happened.

i give Wlad no credit what so ever for his Ibragimov and Povetkin wins. i mean, how can you? it's impossible.

i accept the Haye win, but just about. at least he landed 2 genuine punches in each round.

then you have the shot guys that have no merit. also the guys that were just trash cans from the get go. so overall, there isn't really anything to shout about where his long career in concerned.

some of his good wins he put the performance in. some he just about crosses the finishing line.

if he had put in the performances he should have with the same guys he fought, i'd view him in a much better light and would have no problem putting him in the top ten of history.

Frazier is no ATG. don't even try and claim he is.

After watching Wlad's last fight, I felt afterwards, that I would sooner watch Tyson lose a fight and go down on his shield, than watch Wlad win a hugfest. So how you win, or loose, very much matters. Whether boxers know it or not they are in the entertainment business, the fight is the product, the objective is to entertain. That's why Ward and Gatti were so popular.

All the other heavyweights wish they could be as good as Vlad, but they can't compete with him................

that are around Today, or all time?

either way, no one wishes they were the Octopus. they'd feel deep shame from being such a punk in the ring.

He's no more boring than Lennox Lewis or Larry Holmes.

Tough call. Ended up voting yes but a case can be made for both options. Good posts from both sides of the debate.
