Will Yarde and the Master Genius Tunde Ajayi be studying tape of the Ward/Kovelev fights? Ward showed the blueprint to beat Kov
Yarde can't pull off what Ward did. Ward was a seasoned former champ with wins over top fighters like Froch and Abraham by the time he fought Kovalev. Yarde has fought mostly bums.
As Tunde Ajayi said in one of the interviews: "I don't need to study Kovalev. No need... Why would I study someone or something that's not greater than what I've got. ... Kovalev has been knocked out twice. He's been beaten three times. ... He's got two arms, two legs. He leads with the right a lot of times, and comes up with the strong jab. Basic fish and chips boxing." It's interesting, but this approach is similar to Buddy McGirt's one. He also doesn't watch tapes of the opponents. I wonder if Buddy has studied tape of Yarde.
For the Ward "blueprint" you need a lot of skill, experience and home advantage. Even if he somehow surprisingly turns out to have the skill, he misses the 2 other components. Yarde needs to come up with his own gameplan for the massive upset.
