It would clearly be 2 very good wins on his record but legacies are built on more than just 2 very good wins. Dominance, length of reign also factor in to judging a fighters legacy. Also depends upon what Ward and Kovalev achieve. Ward already has a pretty good record but if he gets knocked out by a couple of big hitters he'll be branded as good but chinny. If Kovalev loses to Stevenson and Beterbiev how will he be judged. Lacy looked like a good win for Calzaghe but then he did nothing, losing to a shot Jones and others. We can only judge how good these wins are once both Kovalev and Ward complete their careers.
if he stays healthy he could and would be the goat at mw. ward has NO chance against him at any weight. kov would make it a brutal battle but end up succumbing toe trip G. that's how great he is, mw king would annihilate the smw champ and beat the lwy champ
He wouldn't though, I would back BOTH Ward and Kovalev over GGG at this present moment in time. He is the perfect example of the media's power to brainwash people in my opinion.
Would be 2 amazing wins, but there are many fighters with 2 amazing wins, more than 2 amazing wins, or 2 better wins and they aren't considered ATG's. Golovkin's resume is not shaping up to be legendary, I'll just say that. Talent seems there, no question. But to make the HOF you have to beat great fighters or I guess keep doing what he's doing for another 5 years. But to become an ATG? He hasn't began to lay the foundation yet. The Golovkin love affair on ESB is ridiculous. Great to watch, sure. Less accomplished to warrant HOF-talk than probably 50+ active fighters, if everyone in the world retired today.
