Wlad unified WBO, IBF, IBO and WBA already, considering he beat Chagaev when he was reigning champion and the only reason he was not recognized is politics, being the WBA a DKP owned organization.
The only fight he didn't take was his brother.
For Christ sake! when you climb up the ring you go for the kill, how are you gonna do such a thing against your brother, it's insane to demand that.

Wlad has donne it all, you can't get more linear then this these days. I see a lot of guys called linear for lesser achievements.

I should have read further, I didn't realize Wlad already champ was an option, cause that would be my pick.

    Co-Sign.

Just to add Haye is a beltholder of the weakest strap.

Done it all apart from beat number 2 whilst he was ranked number 1.

He could have faced rahman/mask/peter when either was wbc champ.

Just like to say, this isn't a criticism of wlad at all; it's apparent he avoided that belt because vitali was chaos emeritus. I'm just saying he hasn't done enough to fulfil the traditional criteria of a lineal champ.

That being said he has still easily been the best heavyweight in the world for the last 5 years. His place in history is set.

No one can call themself World Heavyweight Champ until they have beaten Kali Meehan the WBF Champ.

I think whilst it would be nice to strictly adhere to lineage it is not practicable with all the belts around now and the constant politics. I think it's fair to say if a fighter holds three belts then they can usually be considered world champion. There might be exceptions to this, which is a pity, and it would be great to return to the days of recognised world champions in each weight category but those days are gone!

As a big Klitschko fan or if you will nuthugger I do believe wlad and Vitali have to fight, the fact that boxing is not forcing this...as well as not forcing much of anything just shows you as a sport boxing is a fake.

A and B. Wlad is the champ now, but the winner of the fight would be the champ as well.

Wlad already is the champ. The WBA and the WBC heavyweight titles mean absolutely nothing right now.

To go even further... Vitali won the WBC title from a fighter that Wlad had already beat, Sam Peter. Wlad also beat the true WBA Champion Chagaev, who's title was given back to Valuev and Haye picked it up from him. Those titles mean nothing and Wlad doesn't need either of them to be the true Champ. That nonsense is killing boxing. Wlad is the champ. If he wins, he stays Champ... if Haye wins, he becomes Champ because he beat Wlad.
