Will you give Pacquiao credit if he beats Thurman, and vice versa?

It’s getting close. And the incoming excuses from either sides are getting lined up.

if Pacquiao wins I will think Thurman was not into it. The Thurman of 2015 knocks out Manny. The last fight was not a fluke. He is shaky and not motivated. Some guys are not natural fighters like Manny is.

right on the money. Pacman saw that fight and knows he can finish what Lopez started. Lopez almost won. I get the feeling Spence would stop Thurman in the late rounds now.

Pacquiao is well past prime, but hes still a consensus top 5 guy in the division.

Hes coming off a couple of impressive performances and physically still looks in good shape.

Pac would get more than Thurman due to the age difference alone.

Depends on if the decision goes along with what happened in the fight or not.

I'll give each exactly the credit they deserve. If Thurman beats Pac, I'll give him credit for beating a not shot, but 40 year old, clearly diminished Pac. If Pac wins, I'll give him credit for beating an undefeated Thurman, who is 30 and still in his prime. He looked like **** in his last fight, so that's something to think about. But he was rusty and almost every fighter has an off performance in their primes or close to their primes.

Unless Thurman loses many fights immediately after Pac beats him. Then you have to wonder if he somehow became shot out of nowhere. Which doesn't make sense, and maybe losing to an old man in Pac broke him mentally.

Yeah both definitely deserve credit. Broner may not be elite but by basically dominating him Pac proved that he's still a very relevant contender. Likewise Thurman isn't old enough to be considered shot and aside from getting hurt which can happen to any fighter, especially after a layoff, he looked sharp against Lopez. Whoever wins deserves credit.

It's been well over a week and it seems like people are already downplaying the win by saying that Thurman wasn't that good of a fighter even though he has arguably the best resume out of the other WW including Crawford and Spence.
