Will you give Pacquiao credit if he beats Thurman, and vice versa?

You must've watched a different fight because not only was the Thurman that fought Pacquiao as sharp as ever, he looked the most shredded he's ever been.
He fought differently against Pacquiao because it's Pacquiao.
Did he ever got knocked down as easily before on the first round? That shook him up and definitely made him cautious.
That's not a "hunger" problem. That's an adjustment he made to avoid multiple KD's. And he did adjust well in the middle of the fight.
Until Pacquiao unleased a body shot THAT BROKE HIS RIBS (you must've missed the news on this too).

Getting KD'd on the first round and getting your ribs fractured in a match against a boxer that is so much faster, stronger and iron chinned than you makes you change the way you fight, really.

Agreed. I watched it again, well highlights. Very tough fight for both guys. KT had to suck it up first half, but damn, Manny had to suck it up 2nd half.

The kind of fight a person takes for granted and agrees to fight Thurman, then realized...KT just fought the WapakMan! Anyone is going to be challenged like never before, 40 or not.

I didn't have a stake in it either way, and was glad to see old man Pac get the W. But only someone wearing those rose tinted Pacquiao splooged glasses would claim Thurman was as sharp as ever. He had been off for two years, and almost gotten stopped against a fringe contender in his previous fight. As a matter of fact, if Dadashev had of lost his life, along with that other guy, the week before Thurman's fight with Lopez, then Pacquiao would have been fighting Lopez, and not Thurman, because the fight would have been ruled a TKO for Lopez. You won't find many refs that would have let that fight go on the way that Lopez was teeing off on Thurman.

That's debatable. I wasn't one of the ones drinking that Cotto Koolaid. I don't think Cotto, old Mosely, Clottey, or Bradley would have beaten Brook.

Keith Thurman is one of the greatest victories of the modern era.

Thurman lost 1 round against Lopez because he got caught.
This is no different to Mayweather losing 1 round to Mosley because the former got caught.
Oh and Mayweather retired for 2 years too.
Was he shot to **** when he got back to the ring?

The great idiocy here is people think Thurman would throw out a chance to super stardom out of "laziness".
Thurman lost a round to Lopez and suddenly he's a shadow of his former self?
Thurman got flashed knocked down on the first round and his ribs got broken, he should've fought the same!
See how insane those statements sound?

If you didn't see a sharp Thurman there with his usual adjustment mid game, plus the most shredded body he ever sported, you just don't watch enough of Thurman.
He outlanded Pacquiao, delivered his signature 1-2's on Pacquiao's jaw and had a similar punch output.
He just got ouclassed, outslugged and outpunched. Pacquiao's on a different level.

Again, I'm not taking credit for Pac, but I refuse to sit here and let Pac fans act like this is the same Thurman as the one from the Porter and Garcia fights more than two years ago.

Um, it was a better version. In fact, it was the best version of Thurman we have ever seen. Thurman had incredible stamina, showed elite boxing skills (albeit against an almost completely gassed Pacquiao), and fought his heart out.

Remember, Thurman was fighting on the biggest stage in the biggest fight of his career and he got up for it.

He shook off the ring rust against Lopez (where he lost maybe 2 rounds) and he hired TWO strength and conditioning coaches and we saw the the pay off when Thurman got stronger in the second half after taking a beating. The time off allowed Thurman to completely heal from his injuries.

You don’t have to drink anything. The fact of the matter is, Brook has one good win. Every single one of the guys you listed is an overwhelming favorite against him, even before he was undefeated.

Thurman looked good to me. Better than I expected. People are acting like he came straight off the operating table and into the ring against Pacquiao.

Before the Lopez fight he had a full training camp with good sparring. He then had a fairly tough and solid twelve rounds against Lopez which was the perfect kind of fight he needed to shake off any ring rust.

He then had another full training camp with lots of good sparring and the motivation that goes with fighting an ATG before stepping in the ring.

He looked just as good to me as he ever has. Took a while to adjust to pacs style (as does everyone) and finally got himself into the fight in the mid rounds before getting his ribs broken in the tenth.
