William Zepeda Segura born 6/04/1996 is a 5'9 Lightweight with a 23-0 21 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of San Mateo Atenco, México, Mexico. While William didn't have much of an amateur career to brag about and lost his two matches in the World Series of Boxing, he seems to have acclimated to the pros far easier, since his relentless swarming pressure style, while usually effective from the opening bell, it certainly pays dividends as the fight progresses. Now this isn't your typical Mexican pressure fighter we're talking about here, Zepeda's pressure is terrifying, he steamrolls forward like a literal tornado, like a man possessed, it's almost as if his opponent is a piñata filled with candy and he has an insatiable sweet tooth and goddammit, nothing is going to keep him from getting his Lemonheads and Smarties..... he's ****ing voracious. His footwork, positioning, angles, volume, gas tank, speed, are going to be a nightmare for almost anyone in the division, because he's the definition of offense is his defense. Most of his opponents are so terrified of getting hit, don't know where the punches are coming and so incapable of keeping him off of him, that they're essentially paralyzed. He's already dispatched one of the slicker fighters in the division in Tanajara, who had virtually nothing for him, he dominated him from beginning to mercy stoppage, and Tanajara is no joke. So not only is Zepeda a player at 135, he's a serious player and a potential threat to everyone at the weight, including most of the elite. @IntentionalButt beat me to it, but I beat him to Zepeda, as he explains in his excellent thread. Sure we tend to not do threads on teh same guy. But who cares, there's hundreds of repetitive threads on here many on absolute crap fighters, so if anyone deserves two threads, Zepeda definitely does. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/william-el-camarón-zepeda-segura.670460/
Now that I've actually watched most of this, he arguably got robbed against Lazaro Alvarez here. This content is protected
This guy seems to have an awesome style. Will definitely give him a watch, shortly. I welcome anyone to route for at 135, outside of Loma and Teofimo.
He had an impressive performance last night. I would love to see him in there with any of the four title holders in the division and I think he could win a title.
