he would scarfice his body to make the money then more power to him. it will definitely be harder to go back to 147 now.
Williams needs to prove himself more at welterweight instead of complaining about people ducking him. Right now he's a no name to casual boxing fans. He needs to fight other top contenders and be happy with it. Then get a belt, and then maybe he can complain once he is a champion. Right now he's the champion of nothing except getting his ass knocked across the ring by a wicked right hook from Martinez. He's coming off a loss in my opinion and got knocked back to a lighter weight. The guy has no room for **** talk and he needs to prove his worth by cleaning out the division. Start with whoever will fight you. Just fight anyone it doesn't matter he needs to pay his dues more and get his name up and then he might deserve a title shot against Mayweather or Mosley or Berto. I think Cintron is a good fight for him right now. And after that fight the Quintana-Berto winner. That would put him in a much better negotiating position. I do think 147 is the right weight for him though and I believe he can make it.
1. Pavlik and Arum called him out after Pavlik was healthy.--paul acted as if he didnt hear anything 2. Sergio asked for a rematch--paul acted as if he didnt hear anything. 3. Ok--u beat winky.atsch
Still not official---looks to me that Willimas is dragging his feet,,first pavlik,,then no rematch with sergio,,now not signing it with cintron.
It might be official. Im not sure. It may be at 154 too but if he plans to fight at 147 he should take the fight at that weight so he can get used to it...or not make weight and realize hes a JMW or MW.
The hell are you talking about "prove himself more"? He beat the most feared WW in the division in Margarito. He has come off a win against the number 1 LMW. Williams may not be a big draw for fans but he has done more at WW than Mayweather (until Mayweather beats Mosley anyway). You need to wake the **** up. He beat Marinez, his resume says he won. atsch
His fight with Martinez was a draw at best, but should have been a close victory for Martinez. One of the judges was paid off. It's as simple as that. Everybody knows that Martinez won that fight. He at least deserves a rematch no doubt. But since Martinez looked to have won that fight (even though the corrupt judges thought otherwise) he is getting the title shot against Pavlik now. Which is justice being served. Williams is a good figher, but he still has a lot to prove before he can legitly call himself the most feared, most avoided, etc. That's bs. He's just not a big draw and he needs to win more fights against quality opponents to become a bigger draw so the risk/ reward for the current top dogs go up so he can get a fight with them.
