I've said previously that im not sold on Williams when he faces guys his own size who are still in their prime. I don't want any Williams groupie to come in here and say that "yeah but the game plan was to lay off in the early rounds & put some pressure on him later on" yeah yeah im aware of that. Regardless, if your the same size and can give Williams a lil movement, the guy has problems with that. No wonder he wants to go down to 147. That's the only class he can overwhelm with the Mr. Peterson style of "let's throw punches & hope something happens":patschIf you got a guy that is a professional, they shouldn't have a problem dealing with Williams' style. He's solid, but he isn't a great volume puncher. I love how the guy wants to fight the best at 147, but doesn't fight at 147:lol:

Steward made a good point that how the only way to slow Williams down was with a big puncher. He has better footwork than PW as well. I think he would have a hard time with anyone @ 168.

He throws all those shots, but how accurate is he? Not at all. I admire his attitude and his aggression in general, but he's nothing special.

He fought a very close fight with Martinez and with Margarito. Winky had been inactive for two years or something and isn't a spring-chicken really. He's obviously a good fight, but very over-rated on the basis of his actual record so far.

I thought Cintron was all wrong for Williams, it's unfortunate we didn't get to find out if I was right. He can box a lil bit & has some power, so I figure he'd KO Williams who would have gave him plenty opportunities to do so.

The Tony win was a great win. Period.

Even though Williams has the best style to beat Wright, I honestly believe a prime active Winky could do enough to get a decision.

I don't believe he beat Martinez, but hey, it's hard to get the win over Williams on HBO. Last night is proof of that. He lost every round & got the decision. HE basically admitted his plan was to fall back & put on some pressure in the middle rounds. So how did he win that fight?

I'm tired of ******ed people talking (own size) crap. How come Corrales don't get bashed on when he doesn't fight somebody his own size? How come Funeka didn't get bashed on? What about Caballero who calls out the smaller Lopez??? But yet Williams gets bashed on but for what? Cause he's 6'2? Big f4cking deal. Alot of taller guys have fought smaller fighters in a division. Williams lost his first fight to a 5'9 Quintana and barely won vs a 5'10 Martinez.

well if the klit brothers are gonna be discredited because of their height differences over opponents williams should be more so, because n terms of average relative height difference between he and other ww, he has a freakish size difference, which is his one of his 2 only strengths his size and volume, check som of my older posts i have been saying this for over a year, williams is not that good hes just really tall and has great reach, martinez who is a big junior middle was dwarfed by williams, and fought him to a draw despite that, if williams moved to 168 like he says he will he will lose half of his advantage his size, and he will get smoked

Williams don't belong at super middleweight.

It's called having a "competitive advantage". He has freakish REACh and HEIGHT and also a high WORKRATE. He has gotten extremely far with these advantages and he will use them to the best of his ability. He can make the weight so he should be able to fight in it, it's that simple. If he moves up to 168 he won't have a competitive advantage so why the hell would his management make him do that? Don't hate on the guy because of his physical strengths. I know lots of people are over-judging him on 11 minutes of boxing in his fight with cintron but that isn't fair IMO.

Anyone know how long an "immediate" rematch takes more or less between these guys? Any good educated guesses?

Huh? Boxing is in WEIGHT classes not height classes. Klitschkos are 25 pounds heavier than Haye and Adamek which is the criticism i.e. that could constitute a separate weight class. If Williams can make a weight class he shouldn't be criticised. At the end of the day his opponents must have stronger legs/arms/body because Williams has the same weight distributed over a larger frame.

Corrales funeka and caballero are fighting in their weight class and calling out people in their weight class. Their not fighting 1 or 2 weight classes higher and calling out the lower weight classes.
If he stayed at 147 he would have the big names by now the idiot should have never moved up.
