you can't compare Dempsey's fall out of the ring against Luis Firpo to Cintron's jump, he went through the ropes because of punches no leaping involved. Besides he came back in the ring and knocked Firpo out. Sames goes for Benn against McClellan he was clearly knocked down through the ropes. I can go on about others as well but Cintron looked like he jumped man.

It really looks shady to me......
.....the replays dont catch Cintron hitting his head on the table......

From what I saw, the ropes helped in breaking Cintron's fall so that he did'nt hit the table hard. I though he would have gotten straight back up.

Cintron said he wanted to continue, and if that had been me and I wanted to continue, I'd have jumped right back up instead of just laying there frozen laying on his stomach.

I'm sorry, but I'm just going up and say it.......I honestly feel that someone from Cintron's camp got to him and told him to stay down so they could guarantee themselves another payday vs Williams.

Cintron said he could continue, yet he makes no attempt to get up????? Sorry, but I dont buy it........and someone refresh my memory.....this has happened before with Cintron with a low blow or a punch after the bell where Cintron refused to continue?????

......or I think it was the Martinez fight where he was knocked out and they gave Cintron another chance?????

He didn't even ATTEMPT to get back up.

He'd usually try and get up and then the doctor would stop him...no, he didn't even try.

Do you think Williams would have stayed down, looking paralyzed like that? He would have sprung up in a second, taken a few minutes and been ready to rumble REGARDLESS of the doctor.

The doc probably told him not to move you idiot. That's what happens when potential spinal cord injuries occur. The docs take every precautionary method possible in order to ensure that no further damage is done.

Were you expecting him to get up within a second and leap back into the ring over the ropes? He was probably hurt at the start and figuring out where the **** he'd landed, and the doctor probably came over while he was thinking about getting up and told him not to move.

I watched it live, in slow-motion replay on the live broadcast, and have seen the Youtube video with the guy who breaks into a falsetto "OHMYGOD!"...

It doesn't look to me like he jumped. It looks like he propelled himself forward with his foot while stumbling about while unfortunately near the ropes. He is not exactly a ballerina and has been clumsy on his feet before. Awkward angle + forward thrust + clumsy feet = faceplant. He fell out of the ring, regardless of whether his foot touched and then pushed off the mat. That little apparent push-off alone is not enough to propel one hundred and sixty something pounds like that. He was in the act of tumbling forward and had he been a little deeper inland rather than right by the ropes he'd have done a hard faceplant right on the mat itself (and probably still bitched out and acted hurt).

I have no problem with people questioning why he didn't get up sooner. I question it myself.

He did clearly fall, though. Too much is being made of the push-off with his foot. Go push somebody from behind, and watch their feet as they try to retain their balance.

...and I wasn't drawing a direct comparison with Dempsey or Benn or any of those men. Those are all wildly different circumstances. Such a list was assembled on purpose - to illustrate that these are all instances of guys ending up outside the ring one way or another. Just because we want to put thoughts in a guy's head in a split second worth of action of "Oh, here we go, I'll just jump through the ropes now..." doesn't make it so. People go looking for ways to justify their preconceived notion, they see a little push-off on the mat with a foot...and there we go. History is written. He jumped. The people have spoken. We could just as easily re-write history for any of the men on that list. The only one that knows if he jumped is Cintron. The rest of us can take a look at the video evidence and surmise as best we can. Should cooler heads prevail, the majority will soon realize it was just a big cluster****, followed by Cintron bitching out and acting more hurt or "winded" than he ought to have been for that long. There was just no jump. The jumping myth needs to die.

I don't think he was hurt badly enough to leave on a stretcher, but as precaution, he was probably told not to move by the doctors.
