It took Paul Williams most of round 2 to fully recover. You are really underestimating the effect of the ONE punch.
While I agree that Martinez won Round 2, Williams kept coming forward and throwing the whole time. It's not like he spent the next round retreating and hugging to recover. What specific changes in his gameplan did you notice in Round 2 to show that he was recovering from a punch that he got right back up from? Maybe I'm just missing something.
Cintron doesn't have the power he had at WW I don't know why people act like he still has it. He has gotten better technically that's why he was able to outbox Angulo, but even Angulo had him in trouble and wasn't bothered by Cintron's power. Williams wins this one easy. I'd rather see Cintron and Angulo do a rematch.
I think Williams will win this. He'll get a late TKO or win a clear UD. In my opinion the only way Cintron can win is if he jumps on Paul's ass early, hurts him, and keeps him hurt. However, Cintron is not a particularly fast starter, and unbridaled agression is really not his style.
I'm pretty close but see it 60/40 Williams UD giving Cintron a tad more of a chance to land big early. If he doesn't end it though, I don't see him keeping Williams hurt. He might be able to do more on the inside than Martinez did.
props to cintron, that is. paul williams is the risk not cintron. I respect Cintron because he tryies to fight anybody even if he cries.
Williams and Martinez both sucked on the inside. Why the hell did Sergio keep putting his right arm around Paul's waist? And why didn't PW simply pivot and throw a right hand? For a long time I've read posts on here that go on and on about how great Williams is at in-fighting, but the Martinez fight showed a lot of incompetance.
