PW would ko cotto from a accumulation of punches....Cotto is an easy target for someone that throws a hundred punches a round(like Margarito who PW beat)...his reach and activity would give cotto way too much trouble and eventually fustrate him...i could really see this being an easy win for PW
by the other side of the coin, look what quintana did to williams. saying anyone will have an "easy win" vs cotto is quite a disservice. he is a top class boxer who has fought a lot of top class names, and he should never be ruled out.
Don't get carried away with Cotto's win over Yuri Foreman. Williams is too rangy too busy, too durable for Cotto at 154.
Martinez beat the Hell out of Williams, but William's personal judges saved him. Quintana easily outboxed Williams, gave Williams a remach. Quintana has glass chin too. Williams refused to give anyone a rematch. Cintron was on his way to knocking Williams out, but Goosen saw to it that Cintron would not be allowed to continue. Shame on Williams the chicken. Margarito beat Williams to a bloody pulp, but Williams' judges saved him again. Someday Williams will not be allowed to cheat and will lose like he should have already, actually, is has lost several times. Cheater Williams' is his name.
If Cotto lands his left hooks to PWill's body, he has the chance for a KO, or else he will be succumbed to Paul's accumulation.
Man you guys already know how I feel about this one. This is the absolute worst matchup for Cotto for several reasons. First he can't handle pressure. Never could handle it, and never will be able to. Second, he doesn't have the power to put Williams out. Sergio caught him clean in the 1st Round. But from that point on, he hit him flush time and time again, but Paul kept walking through. Cotto won't have that same stamina by the 6th or 7th Round. That's when he gets walked down easily (if he lasts that long) P KO6
Cotto couldn't shut down Joshua Clottey's offense.atsch Cotto has a terrible case of eat-uppercut-itis and that would definitely be his undoing.
I'd favour Williams in this match-up...he has almost all the advantages. If Cotto can't deal with the size, reach and volume punching of Williams...he is in for a long night, depending on whether Williams can get him out of there or not.
ok then cotto can school williams first time of asking, then you can hoe for a rematch where williams comes out swinging and gets lucky :deal
I think Paul gets many chances to show how good his chin is and wears Cotto down for a late TKO. Paul has poor balance at times and throws sloppy, pushing/slapping punches, but he does have some power that accumulates on you when he digs in. Cotto is technically superior, but Paul is physically superior, and I think he wins on physicality.
miguel will certainly have his moments but i just can't see him being able to keep up with paul for 12 rounds. ptp just doesnt stop. i agree with the post above suggesting paul would out hustle miguel for a close but clear decision. i agree with this. i see it being very close early with cotto looking good and probably landing some nice shots but i just can't see him being able to sustain it all fight. based on what i have seen, i would expect him to fade and be outworked down the stretch.
I went with Cotto by UD for 2 reasons...1. I dnt think ppl give him, Cotto, enough credit for being v smart in the ring. He isn't this 1 dimensional slugger that most wuld suggest. 2. He my favourite fighter lol
Who has ever suggested that Cotto was a 1-dimensional, crude slugger???:huh I think like many of the people who voted for Cotto, #2 is the primary reason...:good
