He won't stand and trade with Kelly. You'll see. There's a reason that they have been dying to get this bout and it will be completely evident the night they FINALLY get it on.
He creates angles better than anybody I've seen since a prime Winky Wright. Oh yeah, he just beat up on Winky doing what Wink use to do to everyone else. Slight movements to create angles for a variety of different punches. And Kelly will look slow in the ring with Paul who has had to chase down welters his whole career. Not to mention, he'll hold the reach advantage as well.
i think its obvious who i'll be pulling for, but i can't lie, my confidence is shaken b/c of everything that has gone on. not just the missed dr appts. everything that has been written...i'd like to dismiss everything that has been written the last few months but ****, if kelly hasnt come out and finally done it then how can i?
atsch If you feel this way, you have either not seen Williams fight, havent seen him fight in years or have only seen his highlights on youtube. FACT. Williams does not box has become as big a cliche as he has no defense or he throws arm punches only.
I said "Williams does not box and move" - which is true. Sure, he throws a massive variety of punches, leans to the side to make then land at different angles etc. But the fact remains that he does so while planted. He doesn't not move and box. This idea that he will run rings around Pavlik, hitting him on the fly has no substantiation. I'm not saying it won't happen; but PW hasn't shown an ability to do it so far.
These kinds of statements are starting to eerily remind me of the people who believed Pacquiao wouldn't be able to use angles against Hatton.
Where was Paul's movement when Wright was catching him flush in the early rounds? Better yet, where will Paul be when Kelly catches him flush? :think
No, he does box and move. His use of angles is great...as is his head movement, his footwork, his variety of offense, his lateral movement, etc. Watch the Winky and Phillips fights again. He is in constant motion throughout them...and is insanely effective at it as well. (and Im glad you saw that I was just halfway ****in' with ya in that post...halfway...:hey)
I've been saying this for a long time now, and the only responses I've had are "Go back and watch his fights!" "atsch" "" etc. I am yet to see anyone produce a piece of film where Williams has consistently got off on an opponent whilst moving. If you think I'm wrong, prove it.
And on december 5, that date might be for Berto and Martinez in a double header if i remember right. Also a week later after that Goosen promotes Chambers as Chambers is going to fight Wlad in which it be Chambers biggest fight in his career so theres no way Goosen will miss that.
I am a Big Fan of Pavlik, i am glad we are finally going to get to see him fight a quality opponent. It is time for Pav to earn back alot of the respect he lost after the hopkins fight. But i do have a bad feeling about this fight.
