Excellent post bro! People are deceiving themselves if they think fighting a semi-retired Winky Wright and an aging Verno Phillips is the same thing as fighting Kelly Pavlik. Those victories, while respectable, do not come close to fighting Pavlik. The last time a fighter finshed on his feet against Kelly at or below 160 was a 6 rounder in September of 2002! Good call on BHop as well. Bernard did a hell of a lot more than use simple lateral movement against Pavlik. He moved in all directions at unexpected angles, he used extremely effective strategic clinching, and he had the size and power to make Kelly show him massive respect. Paul's "boxing" skills are good, but so what. Neither BHop nor Winky Wright were able to score decision wins over Tayor, but Kelly did. The common myth says KP just wore Taylor down and outworked him. Bull****! Some people need to take the bias blinders off, and watch the freaking fight without them. KP countered Taylor's jab, countered his right hand, threw very effectively off of feints, and used numerous other "skills" to win that fight. The idea that all PW need do is avoid the right, and he'll win an easy UD is horse hockey. If Goosen does not use the post ponement as an excuse to by Paul yet another stay of exectution, a lot of people are going to get the shock of a lifetime. And, no matter how you slice it, the postponement is good for PW. It gives him six weeks to work strictly on off setting the size difference.
