this fight is gonna be tight. I lean towards Pavlik on timing and power. It's not like he's in a wheel chair or on a walker, he can move well enough to be the MW Champion of the World FFS. I feel his defense is underated a good bit, because he doesn't hinge at the waiste or bend in half to get away from shot, he picks off more with his gloves than I think a lot of people realize. Just lookin' for a great fight where both come out making thier fans ...**** that all fans of boxing, PROUD. Peace.
There's a good possibility that Pavlik will not be 100% for this fight. He is coming off a long layoff where he was seriously ill and couldn't train for months. I was reading that he couldn't even close his hand fully yet but there are less than 2 months till fight time. Coming off all this inactivity and rushing to get in great shape in about 2 months time might not be enough. I guess his trainers know best but it probably would have been better to let Paul Williams fight in September and set their fight for early 2010.
KP had a long lay off due to hand problems once before. Last time it was the right hand. When he came back he went on a wild ass tear that culminated in pounding the **** out of the undefeated, undisputed, middleweight champion of the world.
Hmmmm. I'm both a Williams and Pavlik fan. I like watching both. And I've already said if Pav was to win he wont get the credit he deserves. I'm picking PW and I've set out my reasons above, but you all need to consider the fact that just because someone picks one fighter above another, doesnt mean they love one guy or hate the next. I'm just making my pick on what I see. The only boxer I've ever really hated was Naz and again I've made my feelings known on the issue (and I know I go over board sometimes). Other than that I try to pick on what I see. And I think most on here are the same.
it is still football season so the wait would not bother me that much. I watch more boxing after football season is over.
