Just because it was an 8-4 type decision doesn't mean it could have been any closer. Williams won 5 rounds at the very best. No more. And 5 Rounds is being extremely generous to Paul Williams, possibly innapropriately so. Just because a fight is close, doesn't mean it can be closer.

And if they were scoring blood, they clearly missed the torrents of it which were pouring down pauls face.

Worst decision ive seen in as far back as i can remember. Hopefully lara will be able to get a beltholder in the ring next would like to see that, Paul is done as far as I'm concerned these types of travesties hurt the sport badly.

Paul Williams last night got hit by the same punch that had him counting the lights vs Martinez over and over again

he hasnt learned from his loss to Quintana anybody who has employed the same strategy has won or almost won

i had williams win the first fight by a point but that was only because sergio began to tire, before tiring he was dominating

i think williams loses the third fight he looked terrible last night and martinez would just fight the same fight

martinez didnt employ the left much in the first fight

in my breakdown prior to the 2nd fight i said if martinez uses the left more not just the right hook he can get a stoppage

i think the blue print is out there and williams is not willing or capable of fixing his game

People are missing the point that Paul Williams won due to workrate. There were many rounds where Lara threw a handful of effective hard shots, yet was outworked by Williams. I can see how the fight would be favored to Williams if judges are factoring in activity over less frequent, harder punches.

Remember, they both basically landed the same amount of punches on each other....however Williams threw twice as much.

Very similar to Calzaghe-Hopkins. Hopkins landed the far more effective punches while Calzaghe flailed with workrate, which two judges preferred.

No Calzaghe won because Hopkins did nothing

Lara was way more active than Williams and Williams was a lot less effective than Calzaghe

How was Lara more active? Williams threw twice as many punches according punch stats, yet they both landed just about the same.

Just watched the fight and Lara boxed circles around him. **** this bull****. This kind of **** pisses me off in boxing, and anyone defending this decision can go **** themselves.

oops bad typo meant to say Lara was more active than Hopkins was vs Calzaghe and Williams was less effective than Calzaghe

    That wasnt a great comparison

Williams missed with many shots and what he did land was not telling

Lara landed so accurately with the left that it was just too hard to give Williams rounds

busy or not he did not have ring generalship or clean effective punching

    going by damage he lost

going by which guys gameplan was working he lost

Williams flat out lost this was not a situation where activity won the day like Calzaghe Hopkins
