I respect the he'll out of your opinion but no ****ing way Lara won 10 rounds, I mean this kind of extreme exaggeration is as bad as what you are bitching about.

In no way, shape, or form was this fight a robbery. The broadcast team was as bad, or maybe even worse, than the Pavlik/Lopez broadcast team. Williams got zero credit for repeatedly beating the **** out of Lara on the inside. Lara did some real nice "clean-effective punching," but that is NOT the only factor you use to score a fight. All this "robbery" crap is nonsense.

I missed the first 4-5 rounds cause I was watching the Showtime card but from the point I started watching, it was clear that Lara was landing the effective punches - even wobbling Williams on a few occasions. PTP did do some descent inside work but nothing that would suggest that he was deserving of more rounds than Lara. Absolutely dismal decision, again based on the rounds that I watched.

These commentators drive this nonsense, create impressions. Yes, Lara won this fight, but not by as wide a margin as the HBO commentators made it out to be.

Lets just put it this way, Roy pointed out heading into the 11th or 12 that William's corner should throw in the towel, he was concerned for Paul's health.

Prior to the scores being called, Al Haymoon & gang, including Paul's corner looked like they were at a funeral awaiting to hear the official score. Depressed look on their faces. It was quiet the opposite in Lara's corner, everyone celebrating like they were at a party and had won the lottery.

Just got done watching this fight. I thought Lara definitely won. Williams was walking into left hands all night. None of Williams punches were damaging blows. The criteria for judging a fight is , clean effecitve punching, defense, affective agression, and ring generalship. I thought Lara did all four better than Williams for most of the night. Williams needed to win at least 7 rounds to win this fight. I'm not sure what 7 rounds you could score for him. Despite the "win", Williams needs to either retire, or go out with a good victory over a carefully matched opponent.

I think two of the judges were from Jersey. Jersey judges seem to give too much credit for coming foward and throwing punches. Lara kept Williams off balanced and was teeing off on him all night. I really wish there was a more standardized scoring system. Judges seem to interpret their own personal meaning of the judging criterea, put the most weight on the aspect they like most, and judge the fight that way.

regardless of what you think about the fight (and i thought lara won), williams should not be allowed in a ring w/ martinez again...or damn near any southpaw. the team calling the fight were genuinely worried about the shots paul was taking.

Zak you are bat****. I dont think the commentators were doing the sound effects when you heard Lara punching PW through the TV.. Unless you were watching some grainy internet feed and got the fighters confused during the rounds there is no way Williams won the fight. Williams only landed 2-3 big punches if that all fight. The rest was pitty pat bull**** no even worthy to mention. The crowd was pro Williams and they were ooing and ahing big time when they HEARD Lara lighting him up from the cheap seats. Look at PW's face in the 11th..

man chill out. The reason why the US may seem to have a lot of robberies is because more than half the fights happen here
    shut up ho
