OMFG, what in the **** does that decision have to do with boxing's "survival"? Believe it or not but other sports also employ the human element into their games as well. At certain times officiating/judges become important in the outcome of games, perhaps have you've seen one of these events, talk about prisoner of the moment, overly dramatic guy...

We need training for judges, there needs to be a clear way on how to score a fight and they should adhere to that.

    Gut-wrenching robberies are centuries old.

People will say this has been going on for a while. But boxing now has a legitimate contender in MMA which most of the young audience is watching, If any of you actually go to fights you will see an older fan base as opposed to the UFC. TV networks and dodgy self serving promoters have killed this once sport of kings. Honestly the only fight that gets any of us going is Pac v Floyd. And even that is ordinary compaired to a Hagler v Hearns or a Pryor v Arguello. Man I remember the days when I wouldnt be able to sleep the night before a big fight. I mean really B-Hop, Alvarez, Klitshko and Gamboa. Anyone for tennis??

Judges need to be called out, bad scores need to have consequences. I'm not talking about close/tough fights like Berto vs Collazo or ODLH vs Mosley 2, I'm talking about **** like PW vs Lara and Martinez vs Cintron, Also **** scores in questionable fights should be looked at. These assholes who show extreme bias in scoring shouldn't be judging big fights.

The first time I watched the fight I didn't even have the volume up loud enough to listen to the announcing team, and it was still clear that Lara won.

Perhaps I was depriving myself of the wrong sense and it was blindness that was necessary to reach those scores. Nevertheless, I challenge any fan to tell me which 8 rounds Williams supposedly won to accumulate 116 points.

Well boxing was one of the most popular sports in America in 1940s.

Bad judging is just one element of things that drive fans away. There are even worse elements such as sanctioning bodies, greedy promoters out for themseleves only and poor match making. Still bad corrupt decisions have an impact on the sport and not a good one.

116-114 and 115-114 are both scores that require 10-10 rounds. I'd be curious to see the physical scorecards to see if those 10-10's were initially scored 10-9's and then changed.

Robbery or no robbery if Paul Williams fights Martinez again, not only will he get knocked out he will be probably left permanently injured.

I fear for this kids safety in the ring and I was hoping that he would of been pulled out of the fight after he sustained such a one sided beat down.

To be fair he probably pulled back some rounds towards the end of the fight based on work rate and being the aggressor but Lara did clearly win the fight and I could not really make any case for Williams even getting a draw let alone winning the fight.

Haha....same thing I was thinking when I heard 114-114. Its a fuking shame that Lara was robbed this bad. Like kellerman said, a close fight is comprehendable as it could go eitherway (ala Martinez/Williams I) but this?? :patsch Whoever is behind this robbery really wants a Martinez/Williams 3, which if I were Martinez I wouldn't take it simply because of the fact that if Martinez does not KO Williams, the fight will go to Williams.
