    In a great division, that round may prove to be one of the most quietly important of this decade.

    To revisit, you had Williams taking the title from Margarito by completing dominating a round that he had to win, after taking significant punishment in the immediately preceding rounds. And that happened against a fighter who is known for closing strongly.

    So you have legacy ramifications for both Williams and Margarito, but there's more: Just imagine the timing of various fights within the welterweight division if Margarito wins that fight? That bout stalled him quite a bit, at a time when Mayweather was more active.

    If nothing else, it offered an opportunity to watch two freaks of conditioning nature do battle on a modest Boxing After Dark broadcast.
