Williams-Martinez: Who Do You WANT To Win And Why?

I want Williams to win...only cause you want Martinez to win...

 

martinez is going to put a beating on willimas.

 

I want Williams to win. I have nothing against Sergio and expect him to give PW some problems. However, I want to see Pavlik/Williams more than any other fight that could happen next year.

If Martinez wins, we'll see Pavlik/Martinez in a fairly boring fight where KP chases Sergio around the ring for 10 or 11 rounds before he finally catches up to him. It doesn't sound like an excting fight at all, and KP would get zero credit for beating Martinez. It's not the type of fight that would put the true middleweight champ back near top of the sport.

Pavlik/Williams sounds like a barn burner to me. If Williams beats Martinez, the PW nuthugging will go off the charts. KP will go into the fight as the under dog, and hand Williams his ass in 5 rounds. That would give Pav's career exactly the kind of booster shot it needs.

 

I like Williams but I see him having trouble in this fight and maybe losing a close fight on the cards. I think if Williams does win he will end up losing to Pavlik if thats the fight he takes next.

Na I like both of these guys so I'm just gonna root for a good competitive fight..

 

Every time Paul Williams fights it is exciting and he is one of boxing's rising stars. It will be better for the sport if he wins and he is just one of my favorite fighters in the game right now. I like Martinez and have a ton of respect for him but I want PW to win.

If he only had just a little more power it would almost be like watching Tommy Hearns reincarnated.

 

That's just it! Sergio lacks name recognition, drawing power, resume', and he doesn't bring big money at all. A Martinez win would be a disaster for PW, and bad for boxing in general.

 

it would be extra corny because 160 is nothing without pavlik
& 154 is nothing with out wililams....

martinez aint going to 147 or 168 liek pw could potentially do
