He'll overcome with WORK RATE!!! Floyd isnt a power puncher(only so-so power, not bad and not good) Floyd is far too inactive in his defensive shell and the height/reach/volume/southpaw style of Williams would leave PBf on the wrong end of the UD, IMO:good
I don't know. Paul's work rate will drop some against PBF becuase of his movement and counter punching, how much we don't know. Despite being 6'1 Williams doesn't fight tall enough for my liking and this IMO would lead to his downfall against PBF. If he used his jab more and threw less meaningless shots I think he could put more power into his punches and he would have a better chance and make him a better fighter as well.
Used his jab more:huh He 'flips' it because it's quicker and able to be used more. Williams wont win by KO and doesnt have to. PW will throw 100 a round, PBF will throw closer to 605 or 65 at best. And the hieght disparity will leave Floyd having a hard time reaching PW consistently and effectively:good Let's hope our theories get tested in reality:yep
The only thing that is gonna stop Williams is the same thing that would stop Margarito. A bigger, harder hitting volume puncher. Mayweather isn't that, so he won't beat him. Pretty simple. Paul is like Margarito only bigger and faster/sharper. If Floyd avoided Margarito it only makes sense he will avoid Williams.
couldn't have said it better myself !!!!!!!!!!! paul did a good job. but it was just one night jesus let the man a few more fights before you crown him a atg!
Considering MW' spars with much bigger guys I don't see him having any problems with Williams ..And lets not use the Margarito fight as a measuring stick because Floyd is not as slow or as flat footed as Antonio !
Two things here. 1. Phillip Ndou was not a top shelf lightweight. He had a string of performances which would put him on a stage of someone like Walter Matthysse at welter. Relatively unknown and who really can say how good he is. Chances are he was just what Mathysse is now, very overrated. 2. Mayweather could actually reach Ndou. Paul Williams presents an entirely different problem. Not only is he huge compared to Mayweather but he throws twice as many punches. There is no upside here for Mayweather. He had very little against Margarito and none here. He even said himself he knows he can't box with Mayweather. He's smart about it. He'll go in there throwing 100 punches a round and completely negate Mayweather's defense.
Apples and oranges - Corrales, despite being tall, barely fought from the outside at all - his game was almost strictly on the inside.
I can't believe some of you are using Corrales as a model of what Paul Williams is, or Margarito for that matter. We are talking about two guys who are very much bigger than Corrales. Both of whom throw in volume. Corrales never was a volume puncher in his life. He was all about throwing bombs. Big hooks and uppercuts. Floyd knew this so he lunged at Corrales from the outside all night. Both Williams and Margarito work from the outside. Paul moreso with his jab and straight left. No way does Mayweather get away with that Corrales strategy here. Absolutely none. Paul would match him punch for punch on the outside, and then some.
margarito fans are like pussies getting ****ed. paul williams whips out his huge mindinggo and shoves it up them margarit-hoes pussies so far up so theyre hurting right now. but give them a bit more time then theyll come to like it like the sluts they are. its already starting, margarito fans are already jumping to the williams bandwagon. ****in pbf haters.
You are both a couple of dumbasses. After all these months you still do not get it. Floyd Mayweather fears volume punchers. Which is why he ran from Margarito in the first place. The fact that you compare Corrales to Williams or Margarito is reason enough to end this charade with you cretins. Learn your boxing.
no, i got a wayyyy better suggestion. why wont the dumbass who picked margarito over williams learn his boxing.:hey
