Now that Pavlik's injury has left Paul Williams without an opponent and has led to the cancellation of Clottey and Quintana who were supposed to be on the undercard. What next for those guys. Maybe they'll fight each other?? not likely. Who would win this one at 147 (Im sure PW can still make it). There most likely wouldn't be a knockout so I'm not even gonna put that in the poll, besides, nuthuggers would abuse it.

Like WWM said. Williams does what he does to all Welterweights, which is shut them out from range with constant work rate.

I'm skeptical as to whether he can make 147 at such short notice, though; it's probably not a good idea to risk it. Plus, if PW is looking to make the Pavlik fight happen at some point in the future, it'll be more appropriate for him to be fighting at 154. As we know, he's not going to get much action at 147. HBO have already backed him looking for a title at 154. That's where he should stay.

Clottey could outbox PW if Quintana could do it. But I think it's more likely that his counter-punching nature would be overwhelming and he'd get outpointed all to hell. I seriously doubt a knockout too. Both guys take a wicked punch.

And this fight would work fine for both guys at 154 too.

I doubt it. I think Williams will win cause of his volume punches but i doubt he will beat Clottey far worse then Wright cause Clottey hits a bit harder then Wright in which i could see Clottey giving Williams problems. But anyway about this thread, Williams vs Clottey is very likely not going to happen cause there is already plan of Williams vs Martinez.

Williams, Clottey has good defense but doesn't use his defense to counter. So it would basically be him covering up all night

Clottey called PW out after his fight with Cotto and said he would go up to 154 to do it! Then again Sergio M. wants Williams too and Sergiy Dzinziruk does as well. So much for the most feared man.... I'm also sure Quintana wouldn't mind another chance at 154!

I hope it is Dzindziruk but I doubt he brings the money and big interest.

Martinez is the right guy at this point. HBO suggested Pavlik/Martinez back when they gave KP their list of fighters they would approve. With that in mind, Williams/Martinez seems like a natural.

Thats good cause all those fighters you mention are great opponents for Williams next fight. So nobody including you should bashed Williams for facing either Clottey, Martinez or Dzin. I would like to see Williams ko Quintana again so after that happens, i'll bashed you so bad you be feeling like Ricky Hatton did when he got ko by Pacquiao.

Clottey isn't active enough to beat a guy like Williams. Williams will outwork him to a easy UD win.

if Williams still has enough time to comfortably make 147 then he takes it easily. otherwise this should be at 154 (which is the weight Clottey was going to fight Quintana at, no?)

I have come to the conclusion that Clottey is good enough to give the best fighters a tough fight, but not beat them.
