Is Steve Williams one of the unluckiest fighters of the last year? Seems to have had a number of fights fall through. Shame really, could've been a good fight that.
Darren, perfiormated ear drum. Curtis might not be a bad shout, always in good shape. Is it too late notice though? Would drop to an 8-10 rounder i reckon though with no title being on the line.
Shame really. Williams always seems to build up some good steam in his career and then obstacles like this are put up. Just checked, and he's been out pretty much one year!
Thanks :good, Curtis has the English title so would add some meat to it but i think it's a tad short notice for him to jump in and defend his own titles if it was for British i think he would be willing to. Tough luck on Williams..
Forgot Curtis has the English. I hope they can still get him an opponent for friday though because a year is a long time for a young developing pro to be out. I hope Hamilton can recover soon though, as this would have been a good fight! :good
Spot on!. I mean Dave Ryan's always a game lad maybe he'd fancy a 10 rounder or Patrick Walsh. TBH i think Williams would even accept taking a knock over job as it's near Christmas and as you say been out a while waiting plus doing a camp for nothing can sometimes be detrimental when no end product. Some fighters end up staying in training for to long and going stale so might be best to just get a fight in even if it only goes a few rounds.
What an atrocious card this is without Hamilton/Williams. Price vs Skelton then the other 9 fights are TBA, Maloney should just pack it in, awful promoter.
It's not great really is it. The thing is, Maloney is only in it now to see what happens with Price. Sky have effectively killed his promo.
